Actress Sahgang candidly revealed her health crisis and psychological struggles following the loss of her husband and addressed retirement rumors for the first time in 16 years, shocking everyone with recent surgery news. Her strength as a mother and as the primary breadwinner leaves a deep impression on those who observe her.

Recently aired on the SBS Plus and E Channel entertainment program "Solo Because," Sahgang's daily life was spotlighted. During this broadcast, Sahgang directly spoke about the retirement rumors that arose in 2008. "I have never said I would retire," she stated, clarifying the misunderstandings surrounding her after 16 years.

Sahgang then took time to reflect on her inner self through meetings with a counselor. Experts diagnosed that her stress and oppression levels were quite high, stating, "Burnout syndrome level is at 97.7%." This was a moment where the burdens of her tough life as a mother and primary breadwinner after losing her husband were quantified.

Sahgang married the late Shin Se-ho, a company worker who was three years her senior, in 2007 and had two daughters. However, on Jan. 9 of last year, her husband suddenly passed away at the age of 49. "After my husband left on Jan. 9, the 27th was our wedding anniversary," Sahgang recalled. "Everything passed by in a blur after that. I had to take on many burdens as a mother and the head of the family without even having the time to be sad."

Hiding her grief, she returned to the public eye through the broadcast of "Solo Because" aired last April. This was her first entertainment appearance in about two years, where Sahgang openly shared the life of a 'working mom' caring for her two daughters while juggling her job, but she also mentioned undergoing surgery earlier this year due to suspected cancer. "There was something like abnormal bleeding that day," she began. Sahgang expressed, "I was told to get cancer marker tests. A lot of thoughts came to mind. In this situation, if I had cancer, what would I do? What about my children? I had all sorts of thoughts."

Fortunately, she said, "It turned out it wasn't cancer. They suggested that I go to a larger hospital for other tests. They told me I needed to have surgery quickly. They said if left alone, it would be a serious matter, so I had to go in for surgery immediately, and on the day of admission, I could not get up." She later found out that there had been a rupture inside. "It had ruptured about 7 cm. It was affecting the organs," she added.

Despite everything, Sahgang appears strong. There is a reason for that. She conveyed, "I have a reassuring feeling that I am being watched over from heaven. Now I must protect my children," inspiring many with her sense of duty as a mother.

Her resilience shone at the year-end awards ceremony. At the "2023 Seoul Con APAN Star Awards" held on Dec. 30 last year, Sahgang caught attention with her enchanting dress and unchanged beauty, but behind that smile lies the time she has spent bravely living after losing her husband. Sahgang remarked, "Just half a year ago, I was living an unexpected new life. Many people have reached out to me, and I am gradually taking steps forward with them," expressing her feelings about the present.

The public and fans are sending messages of support, saying, "You deserve to be happy now," "A person more wonderful than any actress," and "May the future path with your children be filled with flowers," genuinely supporting her new life.
