Model Ji So-yeon has completely transformed her husband, Song Jae-hee.
On the episode aired on the 9th of SBS entertainment program "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny" (hereinafter "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2"), the couple, who have been married for 8 years, appeared. Ji So-yeon debuted as a model and transitioned into acting before marrying Song Jae-hee. Now 18 weeks pregnant with twins, Ji So-yeon also expressed a desire for a fourth child, surprising everyone.
Ji So-yeon noted, "You might think I benefit from my husband being an actor, but I've been the CEO of my own company for three years. I started with zero capital and achieved sales of 1 billion won last year," explaining her diligent efforts despite being pregnant. Ji So-yeon was planning a new business venture involving buying and selling motels. She stated, "The reason for looking into motels is that I want to expand my business. I'm considering things like theme parks for expansion."
Song Jae-hee praised his wife, saying, "My wife shouldn't just handle household chores. She needs to go out and make money. I realized this is a talent for making money, and I regret not discovering it sooner; I was too immature. Ji So-yeon is truly an amazing person. My role model is CEO Ji So-yeon." He also revealed, "Initially, when I heard about my wife's business plans, I thought she had big dreams. But when my wife earns money, it's as if she could become the president with every invoice she receives."
Of course, Song Jae-hee wasn't always this way. Growing up under a patriarchal father and a compliant mother, he initially sought to control Ji So-yeon's life.
Ji So-yeon expressed, "It was really difficult for me when he forced me to do what he wanted. I tried to accept things as they were, but my husband would dictate how I should look, how to act, and told me not to do anything else, much like Heungseon Daewongun. I couldn't persuade Song Jae-hee. There was no logic. He would say things like, 'Don't take pictures on the bed, don't wear skirts in photos, take down your posts, don't go to English academy, don't meet friends, just do household chores.'"
The turning point for this couple was Ji So-yeon's mission trip to New Zealand. When Ji So-yeon felt so drained that she considered separation, the opportunity of a mission trip to New Zealand came as a miracle. Ji So-yeon shared, "We decided to go to New Zealand together for student missions. Since Song Jae-hee had to shoot a drama, I stayed in New Zealand alone for 8 months. I recovered there."
On the other hand, Song Jae-hee noted, "I thought living with my wife was life itself. A life without my wife was too hard. However, my wife said she loved life there. I was shocked and realized I needed to change," explaining the new reasons behind his involvement in household chores and interior work.
Later, Ji So-yeon said, "It was uncomfortable to receive money from Song Jae-hee and use it, so I thought I wanted to show him everything and started to move. I obtained various certifications and engaged in constant self-development. Eventually, I discovered it and expanded my business, receiving applause."
