Kim Jin-ho, the director of the SBS eco-friendly entertainment program "Neighbor Husbands - Green Fathers Association" (hereinafter referred to as "Green Fathers Association"), received the grand prize in the climate action category at the "2025 Seoul Metropolitan Environmental Award."
The Seoul Metropolitan Environmental Award, now in its 29th year, was established in 1997 to encourage citizens and organizations contributing to climate crisis response and sustainable environmental creation, honoring individuals and organizations that have taken the lead in reducing greenhouse gases and conserving resources each year.
The "Green Fathers Association," directed by Kim Jin-ho, is an eco-friendly variety entertainment program featuring representatives from the entertainment industry, including Cha In-pyo, Jung Sang-hoon, Ryu Soo-young, and Jasson, who visit various environmental issue sites to protect the earth for future generations. The authentic eco-friendly practices of the cast have garnered attention, earning it recognition as a model for "good practice entertainment."
The "Green Fathers Association" has received several awards both domestically and internationally. Notably, last year it won a bronze award in the family children's feature category at the Houston International Film Festival in the United States, gaining global attention. It was also a finalist in the Social Justice category of the 2024 New York Festival TV & Film Awards and has won awards in the environmental content category at the 4th Korea Children's Awards and the 19th Korea Environmental Awards, consistently being recognized for its value as an eco-friendly program.
In addition, Kim Jin-ho was recognized as one of the "Environmental Books of the Year" chosen by the environmental justice civic group for his book "How to Save the Earth with a Camera," co-authored with fellow environmental documentary producers. He is currently serving as a Commissioner on the Ecological Committee of the 14th and 15th Green Seoul Citizen Committee.
Kim Jin-ho said, "Due to global warming, this summer is expected to be record-breaking hot," and added, "I have many thoughts about what role terrestrial broadcasting should play in the era of multi-platform and multi-channel. If you continue to support us, I will strive to return with season 2 of the 'Green Fathers Association' along with Cha In-pyo, Jung Sang-hoon, Ryu Soo-young, and Jasson."
