Broadcaster Hong Jin Kyung clarified the controversy surrounding political bias again.

On the 10th, a video titled "I'll tell you the truth about the red outfit" was uploaded to the channel "Study King Genius Hong Jin Kyung."

Hong Jin Kyung became embroiled in a controversy over political bias after posting a photo of herself in a red outfit on her social account ahead of the presidential election. Right after the controversy spread, on the 7th, Hong Jin Kyung met with the production team and turned on the camera as soon as she returned to the country.

She said, "It was hard for everyone because of me," and the production team expressed concern, asking, "Wasn't it the hardest for you, senior?" In response, Hong Jin Kyung said, "I feel so sorry for PD Seokro, who has been through so much emotional turmoil. Many acquaintances contacted me on my way to the office today, and among the messages I received, nine out of ten advised me not to say anything, that it would be forgotten with time, and not to create unnecessary trouble. However, I do not think that way. I thought that if something noisy were to happen again, being honest would clear up any misunderstandings, and that's why I came to the office."

She continued, "I apologized through social media, but it was for not having any thoughts about it. I shouldn't be someone who has no thoughts. Since I interviewed three presidential candidates, I should have maintained my caution until the end. I sincerely apologize for that. From now on, I will only tell you the truth. The production team was surprised, asking, "Are you going to leave Rael still?" and Hong Jin Kyung replied, "I think people will only believe it if Rael is left still. When I posted that photo in the red outfit, I did not think of any specific candidate, nor did I think of any specific party. I had no thought of Korea at all. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation or doubt about whether I should post it because it was red. He explained, "As soon as I arrived on June 1, I unpacked my luggage at the accommodation, and there was a Swedish brand I really wanted to visit. The clothing store was located just 600 meters from our accommodation. I was excited and from that moment, I lost my mind. After that, I don't wear red clothes. But the sweater design was too beautiful. While I was changing in the dressing room, this person (another red sweater) pushed into the fitting room. They told me to try it on. So I wore it, took some pictures, and posted it on social media without any thoughts that day."

I also posted a solo photo wearing the red sweater because, "Every photo taken by this person looked weird, and I had nothing to use. But while I was wearing this, my face came out okay. That's all. She continued, "This time we interviewed three presidential candidates, and I heard there are many who are saying things regarding fairness. Some followed to people's homes while others did not. Why was that? The political bias begins from there. One candidate said to come over, while another candidate we requested due to fairness said, 'It doesn't matter if we couldn't match our schedules.' With such responses, there was no choice but to have a different picture. We only aimed to create opportunities to present the policies of the presidential candidates in detail to the public. The order was determined by throwing dice, so I hope there's no misunderstanding on that part."

Regarding the PD, Hong Jin Kyung stated, "Some people may feel uncomfortable because PD Seokro is from TV Chosun, but PD Seokro worked there before setting up a YouTube production company. He didn't only apply to TV Chosun." The PD elaborated, "They hire less than 30 people a year. Each broadcasting station has different times for job openings. I first applied to KBS and was rejected, and the second time I got into TV Chosun. At that time, it was almost a 1,000-to-1 ratio. Did I have the luxury to be picky? It doesn't conduct ideological screenings during recruitment. I ended up becoming a PD without even trying for MBC or SBS. But I also risked my life and matched everything from the beginnings of the series to the volume and face sizes equally," expressing his injustice.
