Tablo, the leader of Epik High, recalled the past education fraud controversy surrounding the ‘Tajinyo’ incident that caused a stir both online and offline.
In a video recently released on Epik High's YouTube channel, Tablo mentioned 'Tajinyo,' which raised suspicions about him, saying, “Among those involved in the Tajinyo incident, there were celebrities who thought of themselves as my friends. I just didn’t include them.”
He added, “It annoys me to see such people being loved by the public,” but noted, “If I bring it up or attack them, I become no different from them. It’s better to cut them out.”
The person next to him, Tukutz, joked, “Not me,” and asked, “Just tell me the initials.” To this, Tablo replied, “You know who it is,” and Tukutz responded, “It should be one or two, XXXX!” with a fierce tone.
The ‘Tajinyo’ incident occurred in 2010 when Tablo was accused of educational fraud. At that time, the 'Tajinyo (We Demand the Truth from Tablo)' cafe rallied public opinion claiming that Tablo, who graduated from the prestigious Stanford University in the U.S., had "fabricated his academic credentials," and ultimately Tablo went to the Supreme Court to prove that there was no issue with his education.
As a result, the administrators of the cafe received actual prison time and probation through the trial. However, there were still quite a few who believed the claims of 'Tajinyo' during the controversy.
In 2023, Tablo appeared on Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel and stated, "What I really want to say is that celebrities close to me, including those who were part of the so-called hip-hop crew, completely turned their backs on me, fearing they would be criticized themselves."
