The group SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has added another achievement in Japan with their 5th album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY.'
On the 10th, according to the Japan Record Association, SEVENTEEN's 'HAPPY BURSTDAY,' released on the 26th of last month, received the Gold Disk 'Double Platinum' certification after surpassing cumulative shipments of 500,000 copies as of May. The Japan Record Association certifies based on cumulative shipment volumes, classifying them into Gold (over 100,000 copies), Platinum (over 250,000 copies), Double Platinum (over 500,000 copies), and Triple Platinum (over 750,000 copies).
As a result, SEVENTEEN has received a total of 19 Gold Disk certifications from the Japan Record Association. 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' is sweeping the major album charts in Japan, continuing a box office success. This album has topped the Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' seven times and has also reached the top in the 'Weekly Album Ranking' and 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking.' It has also reached the top in four categories on Billboard Japan's comprehensive album chart: 'Hot Album,' 'Artist 100,' and 'Top Albums Sales.'
Not only in Japan, but it has also dominated all major charts both domestically and internationally. The first-week sales volume of the regular 5th album surpassed 2.52 million copies, securing the top position in the Hanteo chart and Circle chart's weekly album charts. In addition, it entered at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200' (as of June 14), achieving its highest ranking and tying its record, proving its global influence.
SEVENTEEN will release the music video for their new song 'Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams),' in collaboration with global artist and producer Pharrell Williams, through the team's official SNS and YouTube channel at 10 p.m. on the 11th.
