Can Cho Yi-hyun in 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' prevent the misfortune of Choo Young-Woo, who is destined to die?
The production team of the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, DEXTER Pictures, and IOK Contents Group), which will premiere on the 23rd (Monday), has released a teaser for the first love 'misfortune's exorcism' revealing the bright side of the lonely and dark Bae Gyeonwoo (played by Choo Young-Woo) through Park Seong-Ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun).
'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' is a romance story about a boy with a death fate and an MZ shaman girl trying to stop it, based on a popular webtoon of the same name. The story of high school shaman Park Seong-Ah, who confronts fate for her first love, and Bae Gyeonwoo, who struggles against fate through the ordinary happiness she brings, is expected to offer a fresh excitement. Additionally, the episodes of K-ghosts, each with unique characteristics and stories, add a different level of fun. Most importantly, director Kim Yong-wan, who has shown excellent directing skills through various genres such as 'The Wind Blows,' 'The Method,' and 'If You Wish Upon Me,' and writer Yang Ji-hoon, known for their delicate writing skills, are collaborating to further thrill drama fans.
As attention focuses on the mutual salvation romance that Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo will create, the 'first love' teaser released on that day heightens anticipation. Bae Gyeonwoo's voice says, "There are children born in cold and desolate places," behind which the darkness settles, and the ominous hand reaching out suggests his innate misfortune. The darkness engulfing Bae Gyeonwoo switches the mood instantly with just one hand—Park Seong-Ah, who takes it upon herself to protect 'first love' Bae Gyeonwoo from misfortune with her talismans. Park Seong-Ah's extraordinary confession, "I will save you," directed towards Bae Gyeonwoo, covered in talismans, sparks excitement. It raises questions about whether Bae Gyeonwoo, who had not given way to his misfortune, can change his fate and secure his first love with the 'human talisman' Park Seong-Ah.
Director Kim Yong-wan noted, "The scene where 18-year-old high school shaman Seong-Ah fights off ghosts to save her first love Gyeonwoo is captivating. At some point, you will find yourself rooting for Seong-Ah's struggles to save Gyeonwoo."
Meanwhile, the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' will premiere at 8:50 p.m. on the 23rd (Monday).
