BTS member Jin has once again proven his consistent presence in the local music market by receiving another Gold Disc certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
According to a 10th announcement from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, Jin's second mini album 'Echo' surpassed a cumulative shipment of 100,000 copies as of May, earning the Gold Disc 'Gold' certification. This marks Jin's third Gold Disc certification for his individual works. Previously, Jin received 'Gold' for his solo single 'The Astronaut' and 'Platinum' for his first solo album 'Happy.'
The Recording Industry Association of Japan grants Gold Disc certifications based on monthly cumulative shipments of albums: Gold (over 100,000 copies), Platinum (over 250,000 copies), Double Platinum (over 500,000 copies), Triple Platinum (over 750,000 copies), and Million (over 1 million copies).
'Echo' recently appeared on the Billboard Japan's 2025 first half settlement of account chart (accounting period: Nov. 25, 2024~May 25, 2025) at 18th for 'Download Album' and 20th for 'Top Album Sales.' It is significant that it made the first half settlement of account chart just about ten days after the album's release on May 16. Jin also reaffirmed his position as a solo artist, ranking 62nd on the 'Artist 100.'
Previously, Jin recorded his highest rank of 3rd on the U.S. Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200' with 'Echo' and made his first entry at 63rd on the UK's 'Official Top 100.' He is gaining attention with significant achievements in major music markets around the world, including the U.S., U.K., and Japan.
'Echo's title track 'Don't Say You Love Me' is also riding high on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify. The song reached 2nd place on the latest 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart (accounting period: May 30~June 5). It initially entered the chart at 7th place and has since climbed to 2nd, maintaining its popularity for two consecutive weeks in the upper ranks.
