The food show 'Chef Heo Young-man's White Rice Table' proved Jung Il-woo is a rising star.

On the 8th, TV CHOSUN's 'Chef Heo Young-man's White Rice Table' (hereinafter 'White Rice Table') featured Jung Il-woo granting the casting story of 'High Kick Without Hesitation.'

On this day, Jung Il-woo, who has been on a diet for a month due to drama filming, shared his recent status, saying, "I shouldn't be talking so much, but I have filming again tomorrow."

In response to Heo Young-man's lamenting, "I can't eat freely or go out and play," Jung Il-woo said, "But I am much happier when I work. I'm making my comeback in drama after two years. If there's a gap, it feels like I entered a tunnel. It seems like I’ve been in the tunnel, barely seeing the outside light and coming out."

At the same time, Jung Il-woo, who noted that he hasn't taken a long break since his debut, surprised Heo Young-man by revealing, "Next year marks my 20th anniversary of debut."

Jung Il-woo debuted in 2006 with the sitcom 'High Kick Without Hesitation,' quickly rising to stardom and working as an actor for 20 years without being unknown. He shared the casting story of 'High Kick Without Hesitation,' saying, "I auditioned. The competition ratio was 400:1. When I later asked the director, 'Why did you choose me?' he said, 'I just picked you because you look good when you smile.'"

As a rising star, a video of him drinking beer while traveling also became a hot topic, leading to a beer advertisement offer. He said, "Last year, I went on a trip to Vietnam with a friend and a personal trainer," and added, "After returning from the trip, that video became an issue, and the brand offered me an advertisement."

Meanwhile, Jung Il-woo caught attention by confessing that he has filmed many historical dramas compared to his peers. He stated, "I have filmed many historical dramas, so I have traveled a lot and gone to many mountains. I think I have filmed more historical dramas than friends my age. I have done six works."

Heo Young-man asked, "What is the reason you are well-cast in historical dramas?" and Jung Il-woo replied, "I was told I look good in Hanbok. They said my face is modern but suits Hanbok well."

In particular, Jung Il-woo revealed, "Before I went to the military, I did seven projects in a year and a half," and Heo Young-man was surprised, saying, "How did you manage to have someone so successful here?" Jung Il-woo humbly responded, "No, I was just in the peak working phase at that time."

Then Heo Young-man asked, "Who manages your income?" Jung Il-woo replied, "Until my late 20s, my mother managed it, and since then, I manage it myself, but since I do it, I have nothing saved," adding a touch of humor.
