Actor Choo Young-Woo has once again set a new landmark with the Netflix series ‘Mercy for None.’

‘Mercy for None’ is a noir action where Nam Gi-Jun (played by So Ji-Sub), who had cut his Achilles' heel and left the world of The Plaza, returns after 11 years due to the death of his brother Nam Gi-Seok (played by Lee Jun-Hyuk), who was the second-in-command of the organization, to uncover the truth behind the death in pursuit of revenge.

In the drama, Choo Young-Woo plays the son of Lee Joo-Woon (played by Heo Joon-Ho), the head of the organization ‘Joo-Woon,’ which divides the world of The Plaza, and also portrays Lee Geum-Soon, a prosecutor from the Special Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. Though he seems to be walking the path of an elite prosecutor, there is a dark ambition within him to overturn the balance of The Plaza.

Geum-Soon, who is treated as a mere backdrop both by the organization and the prosecution, is a character who possesses a childlike naivety amid coldness. He balances precariously between the two organizations, maintaining a mysterious demeanor that makes it impossible to discern his true intentions. Moreover, Geum-Soon intentionally leaks information to Choi Sung-Cheol (played by Jo Han-Cheol), Lee Joo-Woon’s right-hand man, indicating that he is eavesdropping on his father, thereby continuously creating cracks in the flow of stillness and proving his strategic mindset.

In particular, Choo Young-Woo, who played Geum-Soon, maintained a strong presence among renowned senior actors with his heavy voice, gaze, and line delivery. Following his previous works where he showcased his talent as a dedicated lover and a doctor, this time, he has further expanded his acting spectrum as a prosecutor with burning ambition. Choo Young-Woo, with an unprecedented sardonic smile, completely immerses himself in the noir action genre, continuing his unstoppable momentum as a rising star.

In this way, Choo Young-Woo perfectly embodies each character in every work and continues to set new landmarks, showcasing his presence as ‘Hwanseung Young-Woo,’ raising expectations for his future endeavors. ‘Mercy for None’ is currently available for viewing on Netflix and ranks No. 1 in the top 10 popular series in eight regions around the world, including Korea, according to FlixPatrol, making a significant impact.
