'The people's girl band' QWER revealed their determination to release this album.

On the afternoon of the 9th, a media showcase for the band QWER's mini-album, 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant,' took place at YES24 Wonderlok Hall in Seodaemun District, Seoul.

Mini-album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant' is an album in which the four members, who have overcome discord together, pledge an unchanging future within the bright and hopeful narrative of growth that QWER has built up. QWER proves their musical growth with their names credited on all tracks. Each track list is centered around 'Concert D-DAY', telling the story of QWER getting up in the morning to go on stage in sequence to deliver enjoyment to listeners.

On this day, when asked about their comeback feelings, the leader, Chodam, spoke first. Chodam, who is in charge of drums, said, “We are very grateful for the interest shown from the showcase, and we have returned with a stage completed as one harmony after overcoming discord. We ask for your great anticipation.”

Magenta, who plays the BASS, said, “We are having our fourth showcase already. While I’m nervous, I’m very excited to show a great stage,” and Hina added, “This album took a lot of preparation over 9 months, and I hope it becomes an album loved by many people.”

Siyeon, who is in charge of vocals, revealed, “This is our first summer comeback since our debut, and I’m excited because it’s the moment when a page of QWER's narrative is completed. I hope it provides a lot of comfort and empathy.”

As they prepare for their first summer comeback since their debut, how did they incorporate the feeling of the season into this album? Magenta replied, “As you saw in the music video, 'Holding Back Tears' is primarily about rain. It rains a lot in summer. I think our band sound, which is both lyrical and energetic, well captures the feeling of the season,” and Hina added, “I think the rain captures a refreshing sense of the season, and the included tracks contain a lot of energetic and explosive band sound, making it great to listen to in summer.”

In Mini-album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant,' all members participated in writing lyrics. Magenta mentioned, “This time, we were given the opportunity for all members to participate in writing and composing. I first studied writing and composing during 'Youth's Oath.' This time, we prepared with the mindset of incorporating the diverse charms of the members into the lyrics and songs. I think we studied music together as members.”

Hina expressed, “When writing lyrics, I was troubled about how to convey emotions well. I sought advice from my older sisters, and I thought, 'Would it work out well if I worked as if I were writing a letter in accordance with the concept and theme of the song?' It seems that it went well.”

Regarding what has changed compared to previous albums, Chodam stated, “This time, before the album 'Youth's Oath' came out, all members spent time writing lyrics. I think the fact that we worked hard on this album is what sets it apart from previous albums.”

If they were to give themselves a score for their growth over time, what score would they give? Siyeon said, “I had previously released an original song called 'Youth's Oath,' and I thought I had grown a step at that time, which is why I participated in writing and composing for this album. Although I am making efforts in other areas, I feel that this is the time for us to immerse ourselves in practice as a band and participate in writing and composing. I would like to give myself a score of 20,000 points to encourage myself to work harder in the future.”

Additionally, when asked if there are any results they’d like to achieve with this album, Magenta said, “First and foremost, regardless of the results, I will do my best to show good activities and stages to everyone,” but she also expressed her cautious desire: “If I may wish, I hope to achieve first place in all music charts and that many people add our songs to their playlists.”

When asked if there are any overseas stages they hope to perform on, Magenta stated, “If anyone calls me at any time, I would like to perform at Coachella. I want to share the stage with wonderful artists.”

Meanwhile, QWER, consisting of four members with different personalities and charms, debuted in October 2023. From their debut process through a YouTube project to currently having multiple hit songs, QWER is establishing itself as 'the people's girl band.'

Through their mini-album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant,' QWER aims to lay the foundation as a growing global girl band by encompassing all the music and narratives they have developed so far. QWER's mini-album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant' will be released on various music sites today (9th) at 6 p.m.
