The group ITZY has returned with a stronger bond. Celebrating their 6th year since debut, they sing about a more affectionate and tight-knit 'us.' This is ITZY's first comeback of 2025.

ITZY (Yejin, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) held a press conference to celebrate the release of their new mini album 'Girls Will Be Girls' on the 9th at 2 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residence in Songpa District, Seoul. They shared their feelings about the comeback, from confidence in their first comeback work 'Girls Will Be Girls' to thoughts ahead of the 'seven-year test.'

The new release from ITZY, which is set to drop at 6 p.m. today (the 9th), is their latest work, following the mini album 'GOLD' released in October last year, marking about eight months since their previous release and their first of the year.

With this album 'Girls Will Be Girls,' ITZY aims to enhance the synergy of 'togetherness.' Thanks to the strengthened hearts during all moments shared between the members, who are each other's supporters, ITZY and MIDZY (the official fandom) are announcing their ambitious endeavors.

This album includes five tracks, featuring the titular title track 'Girls Will Be Girls,' along with 'Kiss & Tell,' 'Locked N Loaded,' 'Promise,' and 'Walk.'

On that day, Yejin first noted, “While contemplating what new message we could convey, I thought it would be nice to share the resonance of the word 'us' with many people. It should show ITZY's teamwork, and I believe our friendship and bond will resonate with fans as well.” This reflects Yejin's deepening emotions towards the team and members after her first solo activities this year.

Yuna also expressed, “The five members come together as one. In tough times, we lean on each other the most and serve as the driving force towards our shared goals.” Ryujin mentioned, “It feels like a comfortable haven,” referring to the preciousness of being ITZY members.

Lia said, “Just as we've been shouting 'Let's love ourselves' since debut, I wanted to convey the message that 'we can be strongest when we are together.'

The title track 'Girls Will Be Girls' boasts a dynamic beat and impressive vocal harmonies. The five members exclaim their commitment, emphasizing that being together is enough and that they are willing to hold your hand and move forward together with the energy they can express under the name ITZY.

Additionally, ITZY raises expectations for their performance with their new song by showcasing captivating dance moves and powerful choreography. Their performance, which radiates a strong yet hip mood, features restrained movements and charisma, with contributions from renowned choreographers such as Lachika, Kiel Tutin, Choi Young-jun, and Baby J.

Park Jin-Young, the head of JYP Entertainment, also congratulated and supported ITZY's comeback. He drew attention by appearing in ITZY's comeback trailer. Ryujin said, “He participated with the idea of Director Yu Gwang-kyung. I am grateful that he readily accepted and helped create a good atmosphere,” adding, “The producer said, 'The song is good. I hope you show your own energy.' and provided thorough feedback.”

With Park Jin-Young's support, they prepared diligently, and because of ITZY's hard work, their confidence in the album and activity goals was special. Lia noted, “While I can’t say for sure what the numerical achievements would be, I hope people acknowledge the efforts of many who were involved, especially in overseas locations.”

Having debuted in February 2019, ITZY is now in their 6th year, becoming a group in their 7th year. With the 'seven-year test' notorious in K-pop idol careers looming, discussions about contract renewals have also arisen. In response, Chaeryeong candidly said, “We are in our 7th year since debut, and discussions about contract renewal are in progress with the company. I’ll let you know good news soon.”
