The group ITZY, celebrating its 6th anniversary, stated, "We wanted to give a resonance."
ITZY (Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) held a press conference on the afternoon of the 9th at the Grand Ballroom Hall of the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residence in the Songpa District of Seoul to introduce their new mini album "Girls Will Be Girls," commemorating its release.
ITZY's new album is the first release of the year and marks their return about 8 months after the mini album "GOLD" released in October of last year.
Through this album "Girls Will Be Girls," ITZY plans to elevate the synergy of "together." With the support of their members who stand by each other, and the strengthened hearts from all the time spent with MIDZY (the official fandom), they are announcing their ambitious steps forward.
On this day, Yeji first noted, "We are celebrating our 6th anniversary." She added, "While contemplating what new message we could convey, I thought it would be nice to deliver the resonance of the word 'our' to many people. I believe our teamwork can be showcased, and our friendship and solidarity will be appreciated by the fans."
Furthermore, Yeji expressed her feelings about returning as a group after her first solo release in March, stating, "I felt that being part of a group is more precious than being solo. I realized that I have come to rely on my team. They are my support, my team. I have affectionate feelings for them."
This comeback of ITZY also received support from producer Park Jin-Young, the head of JYP Entertainment. Park Jin-Young made an appearance in ITZY's comeback trailer, which became a hot topic. Regarding this, Ryujin said, "He appeared at the suggestion of Director Yoo Kwang-Hyung. We are grateful that he accepted it readily and created a good atmosphere. The PD said, 'The song is good. I hope you show your own energy,' and provided us with active feedback."
ITZY's new album "Girls Will Be Girls" will be released today (9th) at 6 p.m.
