The band QWER has revealed their determination to make their first summer comeback with this album.
On the afternoon of the 9th, a media showcase for QWER's mini album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant' was held at the YES24 Wonderrock Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
The mini album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant' is an album where the four members, who have endured difficult times together, commit to an unchanging future amidst the bright and hopeful narrative of growth that QWER has built up. QWER proves their musical growth by having their names listed in the credits of all tracks. Each tracklist revolves around 'Concert D-DAY,' detailing the story of QWER waking up in the morning to go on stage, providing enjoyment for listeners.
The title track released that day, 'Holding Back Tears,' is a song about taking a step forward for a hopeful tomorrow, even amidst tears that are hard to hold back. The refreshing band sound of QWER, complemented by lyrical lyrics, tells a story that anyone can relate to. All members participated in the songwriting, adding authenticity.
Through this album, QWER is making their 'first summer comeback.' Majenta noted, "'Holding Back Tears' was difficult to play, so we worked hard on it. It feels relieving and fulfilling." She also mentioned, "As you saw in the music video, the main keyword of 'Holding Back Tears' is rain. It rains a lot in summer. I think our band's sound, which is both lyrical and energetic, captures the essence of the season well."
Hina added, "I think the rain captures the refreshing feel of the season very well, and the included tracks contain a lot of energetic and explosive band sound, so they will be good to listen to in the summer."
Regarding this mini album, Hina explained, "We have released four albums since our debut album 'Harmony of Discord.' This mini album plays a role in a narrative of our band, and as seen in the title, I believe it is an album that can convey warm comfort and empathy."
Siyeon said, "It captures a day of concert. I think it will be an interesting listen, covering moments from morning until going on stage for the concert," and Majenta expressed, "I wanted to convey a message of believing in dreams and moving forward under a world that seemed discordant, just like the album title. I believe that sums up this album well."
In particular, Chodan commented, "When you line up all the albums we've released so far, this album title emerges. It is an album that we have been preparing since before our debut," and Hina revealed, "We shorten it to 'I'm on your side' among ourselves." Chodan added, "Some people might think it is a ballad just by hearing the title, but it is a song characterized by a powerful band sound."
Meanwhile, QWER's mini album 'I'm on your side, even if the whole world is discordant' will be released today (the 9th) at 6 p.m. through various music sites.
