Director Hwang Dong-hyuk of 'Squid Game' Season 3 revealed the significance of this work.

On the morning of the 9th, a production presentation for Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 3 was held at the Grand Ballroom Hall at Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan, Seoul. Attending this event were Director Hwang Dong-hyuk and lead actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Siwan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Chae Guk-hee, Lee Da-wit, and Noh Jae-won.

'Squid Game' Season 3 depicts Gi-hun, who loses his closest friend in a game he re-enters with a personal agenda, and the Front Man, who infiltrated the game while hiding his identity, as well as the final fates of the participants who survived the brutal game. Season one was first released in September 2021, sparking a global phenomenon, breaking all-time viewership records, and captivating audiences worldwide. Season two was presented in December 2024, and finally, this season concludes the series.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk noted, "Many people have probably guessed somewhat since they've seen the trailers, but Gi-hun lost most of his colleagues and his closest friend Jung-bae after the rebellion. The story centers on how Seong Gi-hun rises after hitting rock bottom due to guilt and despair over his mistakes." He added, "It's a story about human faith, focusing on the value differences between Seong Gi-hun and the Front Man."

In response to the question, "What message do you want to convey?" he said, "Rather than providing a message, I wanted to pose a question in Season 3. In a post-capitalist society, amidst the excess competition and constant stimulation, can we create a better future? Can we leave a better generation and a sustainable generation for the next generation? I wanted to raise these questions through Seasons 2 and 3."

Meanwhile, 'Squid Game' Season 3 will be released globally in over 190 countries on Netflix on the 27th.
