JYP Entertainment's group ITZY (Yeji) stated that they are "in discussions" ahead of the "seven-year curse."
ITZY (Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) held a press conference to celebrate the release of their new mini album "Girls Will Be Girls" at 2 p.m. on the 9th at the Grand Ballroom Hall of the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residence in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
ITZY debuted in February 2019 as the sister group of TWICE and received a lot of attention. Since then, they have produced several hit songs, leading the popularity of K-pop in the global market. As they mark their sixth anniversary since debut this year, discussions about re-signing have emerged as they approach the "seven-year curse" when their first contract expires.
In this regard, Chaeryeong noted, "We are in our seventh year since debut and are discussing the re-signing. We are in discussions with the company," and added, "I will make sure to bring good news."
Through their new album "Girls Will Be Girls," which will be released today at 6 p.m., ITZY is expected to enhance the synergy of "togetherness." It captures the strengthened bond represented by the members who are each other's allies and all the moments shared with MIDZY (the official fandom).
This album contains a total of five tracks, including the title track "Girls Will Be Girls" and songs like "Kiss & Tell," "Locked N Loaded," "Promise," and "Walk."
