Chef Jung Ho-young of 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' is set to face off against Lu Ching Lai and Chef Yeomin in a food competition linked to independence activists.
The KBS 2TV entertainment program 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' (abbreviated as 'Sadangui'), airing today (8th), is a program for self-reflection and empathy by South Korean bosses to create a workplace that is enjoyable to work in. In the last episode, it recorded a peak viewership rating of 5.8% based on Nielsen Korea, maintaining its top position in the same time slot for 157 consecutive weeks.
In today's 309th episode of 'Sadangui,' Boss Jung Ho-young will compete against Chef Yeomin, the son of Chef Lu Ching Lai, in a food competition commemorating the 'Month of National Defense.' Notably, Boss Jung is said to have entered a focused study mode related to liberation, confidently stating, "If I lose, I'll hand over my event," drawing attention to the competition's outcome.
On this day, Jung Ho-young surprises everyone with his serious focused study mode related to 'liberation.' However, none of the staff managed to write the correct characters for 'South Korea,' delivering a notable shock. Consequently, Jung Ho-young, realizing this painful truth, stated, "From now on, call me 'Jung Ho-guk,'" but a staff member promptly replied, "'Hogu?'" unexpectedly turning him into 'Jung Ho-gu.'
During the ensuing cooking competition themed around 'liberation,' Jung Ho-young proposes, "Let's reinterpret dishes that independence activists might have eaten," raising expectations. Chef Lu Ching Lai showcases guobaorou, a dish often eaten in Harbin, where independence activist Ahn Jung-geun operated, impressing everyone.
Certainly, in the competition between Jung Ho-young's 'Stir-fried tofu with boiling blood,' primarily made from tofu, and Chef Yeomin's 'Bloodless dumplings,' the winning dish will be revealed in this episode of 'Sadangui' along with the story of the independence activist related to each dish.
'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
