The group SEVENTEEN (S.COUPS, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) achieved four wins on music shows with their new song 'THUNDER.'
SEVENTEEN ranked first on the MBC 'Show! Music Core' broadcast on the afternoon of the 7th with the title track 'THUNDER' from their fifth studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY.' In particular, they caught attention by earning the highest score among the program's top songs this year based on their equal popularity in both album sales and digital downloads.
With this, SEVENTEEN continued their popularity by lifting their fourth trophy, starting from the cable channel MBC M 'Show! Champion', followed by the cable channel Mnet 'M Countdown', and KBS 2TV 'Music Bank.'
The members expressed their joy, saying, "We prepared really hard for this album, and it feels good to be rewarded for our efforts. We want to dedicate this award to our CARAT fans. Thank you."
Through the performance of 'THUNDER', SEVENTEEN showcased the composure and stage presence of artists in their 11th year of debut. Their appearance enjoying the stage while freely grooving revealed their seasoned experience. The members demonstrated their solid vocal abilities with unwavering performances, successfully delivering even the encore stage for their first place win, proving their excellent live skills once again.
'THUNDER' is gaining popularity due to its addictive sound and powerful performance. The song topped Melon's 'Top 100' and Bugs' daily chart upon release and has also secured the top position in the digital sector of the latest Circle Chart weekly chart (aggregation period May 25-31). Additionally, it placed on major overseas charts, including the Billboard 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding the U.S.)', as well as the UK's Official Chart for 'Single Downloads' and 'Single Sales', and Billboard Japan's 'Hot 100', showcasing SEVENTEEN's high global popularity.
SEVENTEEN will appear on SBS 'Inkigayo' today (the 8th) to present a stage for 'THUNDER.' Various content has also been prepared, including the second episode of 'Nana Minbak with SEVENTEEN', which will be simultaneously released on tvN and Disney+ on the 9th. A longer full version will be available on Weverse on the 9th and 13th. Additionally, their self-produced content called 'Going SEVENTEEN,' referred to as 'K-pop's Infinite Challenge', will return with a new season on the 25th.
