Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon reached a happy ending as they were married.
On the 7th, during the broadcast of SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'The Haunted Palace', the disappeared Gang-cheol (Yook Sung-jae) was resurrected, leading to a happy ending with Yeori (Kim Ji-yeon).
Previously, Yeori lied to save Gang-cheol and headed alone to the palace, where the eight-tailed fox was. Gang-cheol learned of this too late and ran to the palace. When Gang-cheol discovered that Lee Jeong possessed the eight-tailed fox and was trying to harm Yeori, he chose to take the ginseng root and disappear with the eight-tailed fox.
Yeori missed the disappeared Gang-cheol after getting rid of the eight-tailed fox. Yeori said, "The Imugi that lost the glowing jewel is disappearing, and is Gang-cheol now nowhere to be found?" with sorrow.
The grandmother Neobdeok (Gil Hae-yeon), freed from the eight-tailed fox, came to find Yeori. Neobdeok comforted Yeori with an embrace, and Yeori finally shed tears worrying about Gang-cheol in front of Neobdeok. Neobdeok told Yeori, "I will always protect you," and departed for the afterlife.
Poongsan (Kim Sang-ho), who had hindered Gang-cheol and Yeori with sorcery, was struck by lightning. Poongsan said, "This little cat won't die no matter what. If I serve a greater spirit again and attach myself to a powerful being, it’s nothing to me," he said. Poongsan recalled the curse he received from Gang-cheol in his final moments and lamented, "Cursed Imugi bastard," ultimately meeting his end.
Yeori prepared a three-day funeral for Gang-cheol, but after three days, Gang-cheol still could not rise. Yeori eventually closed the coffin, and Yeong-geum wept beside it. At that moment, Gang-cheol woke up, surprising everyone around.
Gang-cheol said, "If this continues, I will suffocate and die. Your body, the divine spirit, is Gang-cheol, and that is me," which made Yeori embrace Gang-cheol and rejoice at his resurrection. Gang-cheol talked to Lee Jeong and said he chose a human life instead of meeting the Jade Emperor and becoming a dragon.
Ultimately, Yeori and Gang-cheol held a wedding ceremony and had a daughter, achieving their wish of living happily for a hundred years together, thus reaching a happy ending.
