Singer Heize has caused disappointment after canceling her performance at '2025 My K FESTA in Gyeongju' about one hour before it was set to begin.
Heize posted on her personal SNS on the 8th, "I am extremely disappointed and upset that the My K FESTA in Gyeongju performance we were scheduled to meet for today was canceled, which I cannot put into words."
She explained, "I came to Gyeongju yesterday, preparing with excitement to meet you all, and arrived at the venue at 4 p.m. waiting for the moment to see you, but due to a problem with the on-site sound system, the performance could not even proceed to rehearsal, let alone the show itself. I apologize and feel heavy-hearted for those who were looking forward to today as much as I was. I hope we can meet again soon, and I'm sending this greeting in the best way I can since we couldn't meet today."
The Gyeongju Arts Center has been hosting '2025 My K FESTA in Gyeongju' from the 7th to today (8th). Heize was scheduled to take the stage as the last headliner at 8:30 p.m. on the first day of the event. However, about one hour before the performance, it was canceled. Thus, Heize personally revealed her feelings via SNS.
On the same day, Heize's agency, P Nation, also explained the situation through their official SNS. P Nation stated, "Heize's performance at '2025 My K FESTA in Gyeongju' scheduled for the 7th was canceled due to a malfunction of the sound system and equipment by the local performance team." They added, "The artist arrived on-site the day before for the performance and also arrived at 4 p.m. on the day of the performance to prepare her best for the show, but due to issues with the sound system on-site, the scheduled 7 p.m. rehearsal (sound check) was not possible. We made every effort on-site to overcome this, but the hosts judged that due to the serious malfunction of the sound equipment, it was difficult to proceed with the performance."
Furthermore, they added, "Accordingly, we regretfully inform you that the performance has been inevitably canceled, and we sincerely apologize to the fans who came to the site. Thank you to everyone who waited for Heize's performance, and we kindly ask for your understanding. We will do our best to ensure that such an incident does not happen again."
The Gyeongju Cultural Foundation, which organized the performance, also issued an apology on the Gyeongju Arts Center's official SNS. They stated, "We express deep regret for the unavoidable cancellation of Heize's performance." They continued, "Artist Heize arrived on-site the day before for the performance and was diligently preparing when she arrived around 4 p.m. on the day of the performance."
However, they noted, "On the day of the performance, the planned 7 p.m. rehearsal (sound check) could not proceed due to issues with the production company's sound system, and even afterwards, the artist and staff did their best to proceed with the performance. However, it was determined that due to a serious defect in the sound equipment, it was impossible to hold the performance, necessitating that we unfortunately cancel it."
The Gyeongju Cultural Foundation said, "We sincerely apologize to the disappointed audience and artist Heize. This performance was scheduled as a paid event, and considering that it could not proceed normally, we plan to promptly process full refunds for all ticket purchasers."
