Kihyun appeared on the cable channel E Channel's 'Student Ryu and Mr. Nam' (hereafter 'Ryu Nam Saeng') on the 7th, demonstrating various talents as the 'special maknae' and once again leaving an impression on viewers.
That day, Kihyun was set to challenge the last 'study meal' in Porto after a 3-day study abroad stint. He revealed his unique ambition in an interview, saying, "Portuguese cuisine is a survival game," and added, "In survival, only one flavor survives," expressing his enthusiasm.
On the last day in Porto, Kihyun chose stir-fried pork belly as his 'study meal'. In particular, he decided to utilize the stir-fried pork belly recipe of Ryu Soo Young, which received an influx of reviews on various social media platforms, and to incorporate the 'Bipana' he had tasted for breakfast, promising to prepare stir-fried pork belly Korean-style and serve it with bread.
Perfectly replicating Ryu Soo Young's recipe, Kihyun prepared the sauce and upgraded the menu to a rosé stir-fried pork belly by adding cream, aiming to capture the local palate. He also had Yun Kyung Ho and the production crew taste the rosé stir-fried pork belly and refined the dish further by incorporating piri piri sauce based on their feedback. As a result, Kihyun's stir-fried pork belly received high praise from Ryu Soo Young.
Kihyun's rosé stir-fried pork belly also earned him special praise from locals in Portugal. They praised his dish, saying, "Open a restaurant with this food," and Kihyun responded by sending a heart gesture to the master of rice bowls, who showed him particular affection, showcasing his charming personality.
After completing his study abroad in Portugal, Kihyun departed for Brunei, known as the 'Golden Kingdom' in Southeast Asia. On his first morning in Brunei, Kihyun showcased a storm of eating as he tasted various local dishes such as 'Narsimak', 'Sambal Hijau', and 'Sambal Braviss', while alleviating viewers' curiosity with vivid and detailed taste descriptions.
In that day's broadcast, Kihyun attracted attention as he concluded the last 'study meal' in Portugal and prepared for a pop-up store in Korea with Ryu Soo Young and Yun Kyung Ho.
