Actor Jeong Geon-joo grants in 'The Plaza.'
The Netflix series 'The Plaza,' released on 6th, is a noir action where 'Gi Joon (played by So Ji-sub),' who cut his own Achilles heel and left the world of 'The Plaza,' returns after 11 years due to the death of his brother 'Gi Seok (played by Lee Joon-hyuk),' who was the second-in-command of the organization, to investigate the behind-the-scenes for revenge. Jeong Geon-joo plays the role of 'Hae Beom,' a member of 'Ju Un's organization and a subordinate of Gi Seok.
Hae Beom is a person who is deeply committed to Gi Seok with loyalty, closely following his every move. He even wears the mourning armband at Gi Seok's funeral, revealing their family-like relationship. Even learning that Jun Mo (played by Gong Myoung) killed Gi Seok, he expresses resentment over having to follow the organization's orders. Later, he continues to uphold his loyalty as he digs into the truth behind Gi Seok's death alongside Gi Joon.
Jeong Geon-joo captivated attention by portraying Hae Beom's steadfast nature with his characteristic sharp gaze and firm voice. Particularly in the scene where his superior Seong Cheol (played by Jo Han-cheol) says they must follow the higher-ups' decisions, he responds, "So we're just going to sit back and do nothing? You're going to follow that?" showcasing his strong feelings that would even defy the organization for Gi Seok, performed with composure.
Above all, his short haircut and tailored suit fit accentuated Hae Beom's rugged charm to the fullest. Viewers also praised Jeong Geon-joo, saying, "I like Jeong Geon-joo's vibe," "Hae Beom is a character who takes direct action for Gi Seok," "Hae Beom's loyalty was evident," and "Both the actor Jeong Geon-joo and the character were extremely charming."
