'Trustworthy' MONSTA X's Minhyuk and CRAVITY's Hyungjun had a successful MC debut.

On the 6th, Minhyuk and Hyungjun appeared in 'Weekly Idol', which aired its first show after a makeover on MBC M and MBC Every1. Selected as fixed MCs for the new season of 'Weekly Idol', the two left a strong impression from the first episode with their stable hosting ability, demonstrating a 'brotherly' chemistry as seniors and juniors from the same agency, meeting viewer expectations.

That day, Hyungjun was the first to appear. In front of the camera, Hyungjun expressed his gratitude to the production team, saying, "Thank you very much for inviting me," and then immediately kicked off the segment by asking Minhyuk, who entered later, "Are you too late, hyung?" However, when Minhyuk firmly corrected him by saying, "It's on time," Hyungjun burst into an awkward smile, showcasing their 'brotherly chemistry' right from the start.

Afterward, the two formally greeted the viewers and reminisced about their memories with 'Weekly Idol'. Minhyuk recalled his first visit to 'Weekly Idol' 10 years ago and his experiences as a special MC, flaunting his 'veteran' side of 'Weekly Idol', while it was revealed that Hyungjun had appeared as a guest a staggering 8 times, surprising everyone.

Subsequently, Minhyuk and Hyungjun chose their MC team name themselves. Among the suggestions proposed through a viewer survey, the team name 'Shefuju (Shepherd Minhyuk + Poodle Hyungjun)' was ultimately selected. Minhyuk added, "Cooking goes to the chef, and idols go to Shefuju!" showcasing his abundant sense of humor.

With the name 'Shefuju', the two began to lead the newly revamped segments with their active MC roles. The first segment was 'Weekly Idol's Corner, where they delivered hot idol news of the week. For the first week of June, the news of Minhyuk and Hyungjun's MC selection was chosen, and pondering how to announce it, the two challenged themselves with a 'self-congratulation' mission. The lineup, featuring former 'Weekly Idol' MC Kwanghee, Hyungjun's older sister, and MONSTA X's Jooheon, made a surprise appearance as a congratulatory squad, providing both laughter and warmth.

Next, the first guest was the group MEOVV. Minhyuk and Hyungjun showcased each member's individuality and charm through meticulous questioning and empathic reactions during the 'Fan.Rem.Su' (fans edit profiles) segment, and Hyungjun added a unique fun by leading a mini-segment titled 'Beat the Chogu!', engaging in a flexibility battle with Suin.

Additionally, 'Shefuju' smoothly led various segments such as the upgraded 'Switch Random Color Dance' and 'Weekly Pancake' with 100 fans, showcasing their ability as hosts right from the first broadcast. Particularly in 'Weekly Pancake', they verified the characters of MEOVV members that fans had in mind, even performing situational plays that turned the venue into a sea of laughter.

At the end of the broadcast, Minhyuk expressed his gratitude, saying, "It was our first time today (on the new 'Weekly Idol'), but I think we were able to wrap it up nicely thanks to Hyungjun and the MEOVV members." Hyungjun also responded, "The reactions were really good," creating a warm atmosphere. With their seamless teamwork and stable hosting from the first episode, 'Shefuju' Minhyuk and Hyungjun marked a fresh start to the new season of 'Weekly Idol'. Anticipation is building for the new synergy the two will create moving forward.

Meanwhile, 'Weekly Idol', featuring MONSTA X's Minhyuk and CRAVITY's Hyungjun as MCs, airs every Friday at 5:30 p.m. on MBC M and at 11:30 p.m. on MBC Every1.
