Actor Park Byung-eun from 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2' presented a delightful food trip in Daegu.
In the 32nd episode of the serious real street food documentary 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2' (co-produced by MBN and Channel S), aired on the 6th, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) had a day exploring Daegu with 'food friend' Park Byung-eun. They enjoyed everything from grandmother's style 'health food' mukbap to Daegu's fundamental dishes like 'chicken' and puffer fish.
On that day, Jun Hyun-moo said, "I actually came to Daegu this morning to eat this," and headed to a grandmother-style mukbap restaurant with Kwak Tube. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the two sat on a valley-style 'Nujeong' bench without a table and received a whole 'mukbap set'. While enjoying the Daegu-style buckwheat mukbap and jeongguji jjim, Kwak Tube announced, "I will test your Gyeongsangdo dialect," and posed several questions. Jun Hyun-moo answered well, but when an unfamiliar question came up, he suddenly snapped and yelled, "Kkeujira (go away), you punk!" drawing laughs.
After a laughter-filled mukbang, the two met 'food friend' Park Byung-eun in the MZ center, known as the 'Myeongdong of Daegu'. At that moment, Jun Hyun-moo stated, "The birthplace of Korean chicken is Daegu," and led them to a 44-year-old chicken restaurant, one of the 'three major fried chickens' in Daegu. Shortly after, the three, having finalized their arrangements, received one fried chicken and one seasoned chicken each and fell into 'chicken holic.' As Jun Hyun-moo gave a 'thumbs up' saying, "It's truly unique in flavor," even the staff joined in on the fun by eating chicken while filming.
During the mukbang, when the topic of marriage came up, Kwak Tube urgently diagnosed, "It seems both of you have lost your romantic spark," and suggested a 'dating countdown game.' Jun Hyun-moo and Park Byung-eun both responded together, "The romantic spark is alive, why?" displaying a 'hilarious chemistry'. Nevertheless, as the game commenced, Kwak Tube asked, "It's been over two years since you became single," to which both admitted by counting on their fingers. Following that, when asked, "Lately, I feel unappealing when I look in the mirror," Jun Hyun-moo confidently replied, "My charm is through the roof!" and Park Byung-eun also added, "I'm at maximum charm level!" using MZ slang for comedic effect.
However, the test results revealed that Jun Hyun-moo received the shocking diagnosis of 'romantic spark deceased,' while Park Byung-eun faced the result of having a 'dormant romantic spark.' Kwak Tube remarked, "Mr. Park Byung-eun seems like he would have a lot of popularity..." expressing his surprise, and Jun Hyun-moo commented, "Mr. Park Byung-eun graduated from Chung-Ang University’s Department of Theater and Film and is a close friend of Ha Jung-woo. I saw photos from their college days, and Mr. Park Byung-eun looked like Cha Eun-woo back then," providing evidence. In response, Park Byung-eun said, "I'll show you just Mr. Jun-bin," and pulled out old photos. Upon seeing the pictures, Kwak Tube exclaimed, "He looks like a Japanese idol!" acknowledging him as a 'flower boy.'
In a warm atmosphere, Jun Hyun-moo boldly introduced, "The next restaurant boasts flavors worth trading your life for," but upon hearing this, Park Byung-eun quietly replied, "Oh? Mr. Hyun-moo, your romantic spark is dead~" delivering a humorous blow and making Jun Hyun-moo dizzy. Immediately after, the three headed to a restaurant known for puffer fish, one of Daegu's top 10 delicacies, enjoying a lavish 'puffer fish full-course meal' with puffer fish bulgogi, puffer fish soup, and puffer fish skin. Particularly, after tasting Daegu-style puffer fish bibimbap with vinegar, the trio fell into a 'culinary new world.'
After enjoying their meal, Jun Hyun-moo remarked, "Mr. Park Byung-eun has a talent for finding fish that resemble people," to which Park Byung-eun responded, "I think I resemble a sea bream," describing himself as the 'brilliant prince of the sea,' which garnered jeers. Then he stated, "Mr. Kwak Tube has a cute face, so he looks like a ratfish, while Mr. Jun Hyun-moo resembles a sand eel around the eyes," eliciting laughter until the end.
As the food trip in Daegu with Park Byung-eun comes to a close, the 'revisit Daegu food trip' featuring only foods that can be enjoyed in Daegu will be aired in the 33rd episode of 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2', co-produced by MBN and Channel S, on the 13th at 9:10 p.m.
