RIIZE, SEVENTEEN, and IU are contenders for the No. 1 spot.

The songs nominated for the first week of June on the MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ broadcasted on the afternoon of the 7th include RIIZE's ‘Fly Up’, SEVENTEEN's ‘THUNDER’, and IU's ‘Never Ending Story’.

RIIZE is receiving global recognition, having soared to ‘3 consecutive million sellers’ with their debut studio album ‘ODYSSEY’, released on the 19th, and achieving 3rd place on Melon's TOP 100, 1st on HOT 100, 1st in real-time on Bugs, 1st in the rapid rise chart on Vibe, 1st on Apple Music's TOP 100 Korea chart, 1st on the QQ Music digital album sales chart in China with ‘Platinum’ certification, and 1st on the real-time and daily album TOP 100 on Line Music in Japan. The title track ‘Fly Up’ is a song with choreography that stands out like a ‘youth musical’ and showcases the bright energy of the members.

SEVENTEEN continues its success with their 5th studio album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’. The new release sold a total of 2,521,208 copies during its first week (from May 26 to June 1). This is the highest initial sales figure (sales in the first week after release) for K-pop albums announced this year. The title track ‘THUNDER’ maintained the top spot on the Bugs daily chart for three consecutive days (from May 30 to June 1) and reached 1st place on Melon's ‘TOP 100’ before consistently staying at the top.

Released at 6 p.m. on the 27th, ‘Kkotgalpi Set’ is the third album in IU's remake series that reinterprets classic songs with her sensibility and lyrical vocals. It marks her return after about eight years since the release of ‘Kkotgalpi Dul’ in 2017, and is also the first new release in about 1 year and 3 months since the mini album ‘The Winning’ released in February 2024. After just one hour of release, it swept major music charts and received a warm response. Every track from the album charted on major music platforms such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs, and the title track ‘Never Ending Story’ topped the charts on Melon, Bugs, and Genie.

On this day’s broadcast, featured artists include Kim Jang-hoon, SEVENTEEN, N.Flying, ENHYPEN, 20th Century Boys, Jung Hong-il, UAU, ONEUS, KickFlip, HITGS, USPEER, E'LAST, UDTT, SMORZ, and KIIRAS.
