Actress Imido shared her thoughts on the ending of '24-hour Health Club.'
Imido appeared as 'Rosa,' an empathic health trainer who corrects both the body and mind of members in the KBS 2TV '24-hour Health Club' (directed by Park Jun-soo and Choi Yeon-soo, written by Kim Ji-soo, produced by CJ ENM STUDIOS, Bon Factory, Monster Union, KeyEast), which concluded on the 5th.
Rosa is a long-standing fixture in '24-hour Health Club.' She is like an 'essential nutrient' that cannot be absent from '24-hour Health Club,' and Rosa always treats the members with kindness, earning the descriptor of 'empathic trainer.'
"Understanding the members' feelings is the basics of being a trainer," and "There is no trainer who leaves a member alone when they are struggling" gives insight into Rosa's character. Rosa not only comforts the members but also the fellow trainers, transcending the role of a health trainer to establish herself as everyone's 'life trainer.'
Rosa's growth in body and mind was another point of interest in '24-hour Health Club.' In the final episode, after forming a subtle connection with Roy (played by Kim Kwon), the director of a rival gym, she was scouted for the director position, gaining recognition for her skills as a trainer. Notably, Rosa genuinely understood the rival director Do Hyun-joong (played by Lee Jun-young), evolving their relationship into one of mutual respect and warmth.
Imido, who played Rosa, said, "Since it was a character I really wanted to portray, I approached the filming with more affection. I enjoyed the filming so much, and I feel that the chemistry of the actors was well captured in the drama."
Imido added, "While filming '24-hour Health Club,' I realized how much I love exercising. I think exercise is not simply for physical training but a process of loving my body and, in turn, learning to love myself. I plan to start exercising again today with my loved ones."
In particular, Imido, who showcased her toned physique in a fitness competition in the drama, noted, "There were only about a month and a half to prepare, and since I was filming at the same time, it wasn't easy to prepare for the competition scenes. On days without filming, I definitely did strength training and performed cardio twice in the morning and evening. Even during breaks, I used the gym equipment on set to exercise whenever I could. It was a great experience to understand a bit of how hard actual athletes work to prepare for competitions," drawing attention to the high synchronization with her character.
Meanwhile, Imido is expected to make another bold acting transformation with a special appearance as a shaman in the 3rd episode of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Oh My Ghost Clients,' which will air on the 6th at 9:50 p.m.
