‘Mercy for None’ Lee Jun-Hyuk revealed the casting behind-the-scenes.

On the morning of the 5th, a production presentation for the Netflix original series ‘Mercy for None’ was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. The main cast, including So Ji-Sub, Gong Myoung, Choo Young-Woo, Ahn Gil-Kang, Jo Han-Cheol, Lee Jun-Hyuk, and director Choi Sung-Eun, attended the event.

‘Mercy for None’ is a noir action drama where Ki-Jun (played by So Ji-Sub), who had cut off his Achilles' heel and left the world of Mercy for None, returns after 11 years due to the death of his younger brother Gi-Seok, the organization’s second-in-command, to uncover the truth behind the murder for revenge. It is based on the popular webtoon of the same name, which was widely loved by the public.

Lee Jun-Hyuk noted, “I played the role of Gi-Seok, who is the second-in-command of the organization. He dies, and his mysterious death angers his brother a lot. But I feel cautious since this might be a spoiler.”

In response, Park Kyung-Rim advised, “Since Gi-Seok’s death is where the entire story begins, and this is mentioned in the basic plot, it’s not a spoiler, so it’s okay,” which brought laughter.

Lee Jun-Hyuk said, “At first, I couldn’t see the webtoon and was told, ‘You just need to appear as So Ji-Sub’s younger brother and die.’ I thought it would be nice to be So Ji-Sub’s brother, but after viewing the webtoon, it was incredibly interesting and famous. From that point on, I became quite burdened.”

He continued, “When I go to the set, there’s a certain atmosphere. I met So Ji-Sub often and tried to match his temperature. I kept receiving that kind of energy. It varies depending on who you are acting with. Although my brother was not very talkative, I felt a warm and calm atmosphere every time I acted with him. Since my character wears glasses in the comic, I wore glasses too.”

When Park Kyung-Rim asked if So Ji-Sub and Lee Jun-Hyuk were sitting too far apart for brothers, Lee Jun-Hyuk replied, “It’s because I’m a corpse,” bringing laughter.

Meanwhile, ‘Mercy for None’ will be released in over 190 countries worldwide on the 6th.
