Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo showcase divine chemistry from a tumultuous first love to mutual salvation.
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, DEXTER, and Eo Content Group) is set to premiere on the 23rd, and on the 5th, they released couple stills featuring the evolving relationship between Park Seong-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun) and Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-Woo), increasing the excitement.
'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' is a romance drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name, depicting the bold first love rescue story of a boy destined to die and an MZ shaman girl trying to prevent it. The story features high school shaman Park Seong-ah, who confronts fate for her first love, and Bae Gyeon-woo, who seeks to defy destiny through the ordinary happiness she opens for him. The unique characters of K-spirits with their own diverse stories add another layer of fun. Notably, director Kim Yong-wan, known for his excellent direction in various genres such as 'Stranger' and 'Method,' and Yang Ji-hoon, with their delicate writing skills, collaborate to make drama fans even more excited.
The photos released that day amplify the excitement with the ever-changing relationship between Park Seong-ah and Bae Gyeon-woo. Park Seong-ah, who fell for Bae Gyeon-woo at first sight as he entered her temple with a death sentence hanging over him, has a lovely smile upon their fateful reunion. In contrast, Bae Gyeon-woo's cold demeanor as he gazes at Park Seong-ah piques curiosity about their first meeting.
Park Seong-ah, who promises an exhilarating change in their relationship, and Bae Gyeon-woo's close-up moments have also been captured. Bae Gyeon-woo's subtle gaze toward Park Seong-ah is captivating. Their tense eye contact suggests they might kiss at any moment, giving a thrilling sensation. Another photo showing Bae Gyeon-woo startled by Park Seong-ah's bold wall hit is also intriguing. Bae Gyeon-woo, covering his lips in surprise at the unexpected situation, and the fearless gaze between Park Seong-ah and him enhances the excitement. Park Seong-ah, who takes it upon herself to protect 'first love' Bae Gyeon-woo from bad luck by becoming a 'human talisman,' raises questions about whether Bae Gyeon-woo, who initially refuses to let her close for fear of being swept away by misfortune, can change his fate and hold onto his first love.
Cho Yi-hyun noted, “I was stimulated to meet Choo Young-Woo again in a much more grown-up appearance,” which piqued expectations, while Choo Young-Woo also shared, “It was great and amazing to combine with Cho Yi-hyun again after both of us have grown. I felt very supported on set and was able to shoot comfortably,” hinting at the upgraded synergy.
Meanwhile, the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' will premiere on the 23rd at 8:50 p.m.
