Writer So Jae-won of the film 'Wish' has begun a no-mercy response to malicious comments from 'far-right forces.'
So Jae-won left a message on his social media on the 5th, saying, "Two of the far-right individuals who were investigated and charged against me reached out via direct message to ask for forgiveness, so I met with them. I thought they were incredibly wealthy from the malicious comments I saw. (I cannot mention specifics as they could identify personal information.) I intended to demand a settlement of 100 million won, but they were people with even less than 500 million won."
He added, "I was astonished and just laughed. One person brought my work and said they had changed their mind after reading it and asked for forgiveness. I kindly took the work and handed over 50,000 won, saying, 'This is not a work for you to read. I will refund you. Please face your punishment and respond to the civil suit with the same fighting spirit as the malicious comments.'"
So Jae-won elaborated, "Another one suggested a settlement of 2 million won. I held both of their hands and said, 'In a civil suit, you would receive about 3 million won. I won't even cover the attorney expenses, but you'll face 3 million won in damages and fines, plus a criminal record. If you spend 10 million won to get that, then I am fully satisfied.'"
Earlier, So Jae-won, who publicly supported the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, informed that those opposed to his political beliefs had bought his book, vandalized it, and then requested returns, leaving publishers perplexed. He remarked, "The far-right is more vicious than I thought" and revealed red marks with remarks like "Get lost" and "Commie bastard."
Ultimately, he took legal action against the commenters defaming him. Especially, So Jae-won made it clear, saying, "Far-right folks! I will not settle. I just wanted to see your faces.^^ Don't get your hopes up."
Meanwhile, So Jae-won has publicly targeted the political inclinations of actors Choi Jun-yong and Kim Hye-eun.
