Netflix's series 'Squid Game' Season 3 has released 8 character posters.
Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 3 has generated anticipation by unveiling 8 character posters featuring Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Siwan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, and Jo Yuri. 'Squid Game' Season 3 tells the story of Gi-hun, who loses his best friend in a game he rejoined for his own purpose, the Front Man, who disguised himself as Participant 001 'Young-il' to join the game with Gi-hun, and the final fates of participants who survived in that brutal game.
The released character posters for 'Squid Game' Season 3 depict participants in a space painted in colorful illustrations, resembling artwork by a child. Despite the atmosphere stimulating childlike innocence with rainbows and fish drawings, the participants' expressions convey vigilance and conflict, presenting an unpredictable mood about what kind of game will unfold in this space and how their fates will turn out.
First, Gi-hun's (Lee Jung-jae) grim gaze, having lost his closest friend 'Jung-bae' (Lee Seo-hwan) and fellow participants due to the failure of the rebellion he led, raises questions about whether he can finish this game and what changes he will undergo in Season 3, creating a sense of tension. Meanwhile, The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who participated in the game disguised as Participant 001 'Young-il,' returns as the game's overseer, signaling a reunion with Gi-hun.
Whether Gi-hun will discover his true identity, and the confrontation between the two, who reunite as enemies rather than allies, is expected to be a strong viewing point in Season 3. In particular, unlike the childlike space where other participants stand, the striking and deep colors of The Front Man's space stand out in the character posters.
The firm expression of 'Myung-ki' (Yim Siwan), who looked at the front, makes one curious about what decisions he will make in Season 3 after making selfish choices to survive in Season 2. Additionally, Kim Jun-hee, Myung-ki's ex-girlfriend who joined the game while pregnant, drew attention with her more prominent D-line. The scene of 'Dae-ho' (Kang Ha-neul) brushing his hair back with a tense expression shows the confusion he feels after facing real fear during the rebellion, enhancing immersion. 'Hyun-joo' (Park Sung-hoon) also stands out with her confident and strong appearance. Expectation arises to see if 'Hyun-joo', who consistently displayed courageous decisions at the crossroads of life and death, can maintain her warmth and consideration in Season 3.
In contrast, 'Yong-sik' (Yang Dong-geun) and 'Geum-ja' (Kang Ae-sim) show expressions mixed with fear and curiosity. While they manage to navigate the game, it remains uncertain whether 'Yong-sik' can survive to the end, and there is keen interest in where Geum-ja's story, where she wishes to save her son even at the cost of her own life, will flow.
Lastly, 'Jun-hee' (Jo Yuri), who participates in the game in her last month of pregnancy, struggles but is not eliminated, successfully handling each game. It raises curiosity about how she will play the game and what choices she will make within the increasingly difficult and brutal challenges. The vibrant character posters capturing the distinct stories and emotions of these individuals once again foreshadow the brutal unfolding of the game, heightening anticipation for Season 3.
'Squid Game' Season 3, where the final game of the beloved series unfolds, will be released on Netflix on June 27, 2025 (Friday).
