The group NewJeans rejected the court's suggestion for a settlement.

On the 5th, the 41st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Director General Jeong Hoe-il) held the second hearing for the validity confirmation lawsuit regarding the exclusive contract filed by ADOR against NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, HAEIN). The NewJeans members did not attend the trial.

Earlier, during the first hearing held in March, the court, which inquired about the willingness to settle from both sides, asked again during this hearing. In response to the question, "I regret that you said there was none last time, so from the court's perspective, I'm suggesting it. Do you have any thoughts on settling?" NewJeans' side replied, "We will have to consult with our client, but the trust relationship has already been broken. We have crossed the river that we cannot go back to."

However, the ADOR side stated, "If the court reaches a conclusion, I believe that a settlement can be easily achieved afterward," expressing a willingness to settle.

Meanwhile, prior to this trial, the court sided with ADOR in the provisional injunction application seeking to preserve the status of the NewJeans members and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts.

The court accepted the injunction application and stated that NewJeans should not engage in independent activities without prior approval or consent from ADOR, and NewJeans' objection was also dismissed. Last month, the coercive measures requested by ADOR were accepted, and the court specified, "In the event of a violation, pay 1 billion won to ADOR for each violation."

As a result, NewJeans' independent activities were virtually completely prohibited, and on the 4th, NewJeans conveyed a message to their fans through SNS, saying, "Reading the letter yesterday warmed my heart so much. I missed you, so I just came."
