Singer Ben, who has been in a conflict over revenue with her former agency, continues to battle in court.

Ben’s contract with her previous agency, Major Nine, expired in January 2023. After leaving the agency without renewing the contract, Ben demanded a settlement regarding revenue that would arise in the future from the songs and albums released during the contract period, but Major Nine did not accept it.

Accordingly, Ben filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 700 million won in contract fees against Major Nine in May 2023. Four months after the lawsuit was filed, in September 2023, the court urged a settlement and issued a mediation referral decision, but in November 2023, ultimately concluded that no settlement was reached.

The case has been transferred to a new division as of September 2024, with the 14th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court scheduled to hold the first argument session on July 23. In this regard, Ben’s side stated, “Since it is a matter that has been previously raised, there is no particular official position.”

Ben debuted in 2010 as part of the group Bebemignon. After the group disbanded, she resumed her solo career in 2012 and released hit songs such as “180 Degrees” and “In Love.”
