The new girl group USPEER (youth spear) from WM Entertainment has boldly challenged the music scene. While Oh My Girl was dreamy and conceptual, USPEER aims to captivate music fans with a sporty charm, vowing to showcase a different appeal from their seniors.

USPEER (Yeowon, Sohee, Sian, Seoyu, Daon, Chaina, Loa) held their first single album 'SPEED ZONE' release showcase in Seoul's Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu at SBS Prism Tower on the 4th.

USPEER is a girl group that WM Entertainment, known for discovering B1A4, Oh My Girl, ONF, and Lee Chae Yeon, presents about 10 years after Oh My Girl. The group name USPEER is a combination of 'US' and 'SPEER,' meaning, 'We will understand the essence of the world we will share together and create a better future.'

USPEER consists of seven members with diverse charms: leader Yeowon, passionate rapper Sohee, versatile all-rounder Sian, charming Seoyu with a lovely smile, bright Daon with a clear beauty, bouncy Chaina with liveliness, and emotional vocalist, youngest Loa. It also attracts attention that all members are Korean, just like their senior group, Oh My Girl.

USPEER's role model is Oh My Girl. Seoyu said, "Since Oh My Girl seniors are a national girl group, we want to follow in their footsteps." Sohee noted, "While Oh My Girl seniors receive much love as a team, they also showcase various charms individually through solo activities, acting, and entertainment, so we also want to follow that path."

Yeowon specifically mentioned, "Rather than simply saying our concept is sports, we capture energy and vitality by likening it to speed and show it in our visuals and content. I think the ability to show specific details in various fields is what sets us apart." Seoyu added, "Our song stands out with powerful performances. You can see much of it linked to sports through various content. I believe the atmosphere that our team exudes is quite energetic."

USPEER showcased their first stage with 'ZOOM.' Yeowon said, "Rather than pressure, I've practiced thinking that if we work hard, fans will love and support our music." Sian commented, "Oh My Girl's Yubin has always come to the practice room and detailed various aspects of vocals and dance. We even had a pork belly dinner, and I want to repay them with beef." Yeowon expressed gratitude, saying, "I performed as a dancer for Oh My Girl's stage last year, and I learned a lot through comeback showcases and music broadcasts while receiving advice. Thank you for the encouragement."

Leading up to their debut, USPEER showed dynamic movements filled with positive energy in the teaser content for their first single album, while also raising expectations for their reality show 'USPEER RUN UP!' by displaying outstanding skills and charm. They are set to officially sprint into the K-POP scene with their first single album 'SPEED ZONE.'

'SPEED ZONE' is an album that depicts the newly starting USPEER moving at their own pace. The K-POP representative production team MonoTree participated in the song-making, contributing to USPEER's musical journey.

The debut track 'ZOOM' is an electro-hip hop genre song that highlights rapidly rushing synth bass and dynamic beats. The catchy chorus, which repeats like an incantation, and the heart-pounding intense drum sound are impressive. The confident rapping and powerful vocals fill the song, delivering USPEER's unique energy.

The music video also expresses a sporty charm. Sohee laughed, saying, "In the music video, there’s a scene of running in a skate park, and that scene sticks out in my memory. Seoyu started first but was slow and arrived last." Seoyu reminisced, "I was the first to start in the formation, but I’m a bit slow at running, so I got overtaken."

The first single album includes the title track 'ZOOM' and the included track 'Telepathy.' This track combines UK garage rhythms with R&B sensibility, creating a lively sound with bouncy vocals harmonizing beautifully. It sings about a special bond, stating that together, we can overcome any limits effortlessly, as if destined.

USPEER's goal is the rookie award. Yeowon said, "Our team's goal is to widely spread the name USPEER. We talked among the members and we really want to take first place on music shows. If we get the chance, we also want to sweep rookie awards at year-end stages." Daon added, "If we think long-term, it would be great to see our team's name and songs on the Billboard charts. I also want to perform at the dream stage Coachella."

USPEER's first single album 'SPEED ZONE' will be released on various music streaming sites at 6 p.m. on the same day.
