Choo Young-Woo from 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' captivates viewers with his dangerously appealing visuals.
The production team for the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' (written by Yang Ji-hoon, directed by Kim Yong-wan, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon and DEXTER Pictures) announced on the 2nd that they have released a still of Bae Gyeon-Woo (Choo Young-Woo), who is prickly yet thrilling.
'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' is a romance about first love featuring 18-year-olds, centered on a boy with a death sentence and a MZ shaman girl who tries to thwart it. High school shaman Park Seong-A (Cho Yi-hyun) battles fate for her first love, while the story of Bae Gyeon-Woo, who experiences habits of ordinary happiness through her influence, is expected to deliver a fresh excitement. Director Kim Yong-Wan, who has showcased exceptional directorial skills through various genres such as 'Windfall,' 'Method,' and 'If You Wish Upon a Star,' collaborates with the delicate writer Yang Ji-hoon to further excite drama fans. Above all, there is a tremendous response to the romance starring popular young actors Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-Woo, and Cha Gang-yoon.
The charm of Bae Gyeon-Woo's 'crispy on the outside and moist on the inside' is heightened in the released photos. Bae Gyeon-Woo, visiting the shrine of 'Cheonji Fairy' Park Seong-A, reveals his personality that rarely lets others in, seen in his suspicious and prickly gaze. Born with a death sentence, Bae Gyeon-Woo borrowed the powers of shamans to shake off misfortune, but all he received were wounds in return. It remains to be seen if he can change after meeting the 'human talisman' Park Seong-A, whom he used to detest.
Archery is the only escape that reminds Bae Gyeon-Woo of being alive amidst his unfortunate daily life. Watching the flying arrows, Bae Gyeon-Woo's smile reveals a delicate and warm side hidden beneath his cold exterior. In fact, Bae Gyeon-Woo's emotional walls are to protect others from being swept away by his own misfortune. The excitement-filled smile seen in the following photos hints at the changes coming for him. Bae Gyeon-Woo is expected to undergo unfamiliar yet delightful changes due to Park Seong-A, who boldly crosses boundaries and knocks on his heart. Many are curious if Bae Gyeon-Woo will regain his smile alongside Park Seong-A.
Choo Young-Woo, who revealed that he is a fan of the original webtoon, noted, 'The script for 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' was interesting and I quickly became immersed in it. I also thought it was an opportunity to show a different side from the characters I played in previous works.' Regarding the character 'Bae Gyeon-Woo,' he explained, 'He is a character who has fought against misfortune for eighteen years, possessing a strong mentality while carrying wounds from not being loved.' He further added, 'Gyeonwoo resembles a sad hedgehog that raises its quills to protect others. Although he may appear cold on the outside, he has a warm heart that hopes no one gets hurt because of his own danger,' increasing curiosity about the character 'Bae Gyeon-Woo.'
