MONSTA X, known for their 'trustworthy to listen' music, had a powerful comeback showcase on 'No Fogi.'
On the 31st of last month, the 16th episode of the web entertainment show 'No Fogi' was released on the YouTube channel KBS Kpop. With leader Shownu co-hosting, members Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon appeared as guests and attracted attention.
In the video, the members enjoyed hearty food, including octopus soup, squid ramen, boiled cuttlefish, potato pancakes, kimchi pancakes, and scrambled eggs, showcasing a strong 'Mokstar X' eating broadcast. Their candid reactions in front of the food stimulated the viewers' salivary glands, and their unique personalities and cheerful banter consistently drew laughter.
Recently, MONSTA X, celebrating their 10th anniversary, shared heartfelt stories that resonated deeply. Jooheon chose the day they first ranked No. 1 on a music show as the most memorable moment of the past 10 years. He recalled, "Shownu, who usually doesn’t cry, couldn’t even speak because he was so emotional, and Hyungwon was dazed" at that time. Kihyun reflected on the moment when they cried together with the 'MONBEBE's' (official fandom name), saying, "The MONBEBE's in front of us were crying a lot. We could see it all."
Among them, Hyungwon selected the world tour as his most impressive memory. He added, "It feels meaningful to see people who like us all over the world," explaining his reason.
The conversation also turned to their future goals and resolutions. Jooheon said, "Now we need to show our musical side," raising fans' expectations, and expressed his honest wish, stating, "Of course, it's a goal to achieve good health for MONSTA X and MONBEBE, but I want to receive a big award like the Grand Prize."
In response, Shownu remarked, "Hearing Honey's story made me think that I also had dreams of receiving big awards at major ceremonies, but I might not have said it because I lacked confidence." He added, "But I feel relieved when you talk honestly," creating a warm atmosphere.
They also expressed their gratitude toward 'MONBEBE,' who made their 10th anniversary possible. The members shared their feelings about the 10th anniversary, stating, "Being grateful to (the fans) seems to be the biggest thing," and recalled feeling emotional while watching the anniversary videos made by fans. In particular, Jooheon moved many by saying, "When asked why I became a singer, I want to mention 'MONBEBE' first."
Debuting in 2015, MONSTA X achieved their first No. 1 on a music show 916 days after debut, steadily climbing the ladder of growth. In 2018, they became the first K-pop group to join the iHeartRadio's largest year-end concert tour, 'Jingle Ball,' and participated in that tour three times until 2021, expanding their presence as global artists. Recently, they announced the news of a full group concert in July, closing the gap created by military service, attracting fans' attention to the new chapter they will write together.
Meanwhile, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, MONSTA X will hold a free pop-up exhibition titled 'MONOLOGUE' in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo District, Seoul, until the 11th.
