Actress Han Guru talked about the challenges of parenting twins.
On the broadcast of TV CHOSUN’s ‘Food Explorer Heo Young-man’s Meal Travel’ aired on the 1st, the scenes of Heo Young-man and Han Guru traveling to Buan, North Jeolla Province, were depicted.
Han Guru and Heo Young-man moved to sample the local specialties known as pig’s intestine and blood sausage soup. Han Guru revealed her preference, saying, “I love to find local eateries, so if I discover a long-established shop while walking on the street, I try the food.” While meeting students from a baseball team at the restaurant, Han Guru said, “I enjoy exercising. I do swimming, gym, yoga, pilates, and flying yoga. I do three of these every day. I attended the Beijing Art School in China, so I am used to movement.” In particular, Han Guru demonstrated her martial arts skills learned while attending school in China, receiving enthusiastic applause.
While Han Guru was rising as a star, she suddenly announced her marriage at the age of 23 and halted her activities. Although she became a mother of twins at the young age of 26, she is now active as a single mom, balancing parenting and acting after her divorce.
Han Guru said, “To be honest, I don’t think about the kids. After they entered elementary school, I returned to my main job. Until then, I had never been apart from them. I bathed them, cooked for them, and did everything. On the first day apart, we both cried, but once it happened, it felt good,” adding, “While raising the kids alone, I felt small joys but also faced a lot of challenges. The happiest moment was when I received the confirmation text for their daycare enrollment. I cried then,” which brought a twist of humor.
