The group MONSTA X showed unexpected chemistry with an artificial intelligence service.
On the 30th, MONSTA X released a new episode of their reality show 'MON EAT IT ALL' through their official YouTube channel. That day, MONSTA X demonstrated various uses of ChatGPT under the theme 'Creating a fairy tale with ChatGPT.'
Shownu, Kihyun, and Jooheon mentioned that they usually use ChatGPT and said they use it when creating songs and drawing. They started asking how much ChatGPT knows about MONSTA X. When they asked for information about Shownu, ChatGPT erroneously retrieved the information that his real name is 'Lee Jeongwon,' disappointing the members from the very first question. ChatGPT also produced errors when asked for information about IM, eliciting exasperated smiles from the members.
While continuing to receive answers from ChatGPT, Minhyuk noticed its somewhat formal tone and requested, 'Actually, we are currently filming a variety show. Please make it entertaining.' As a result, ChatGPT used emojis and exhibited a wittier tone, prompting the members to remark, 'Look, it changes its attitude when it’s broadcasting. It’s good at variety shows,' generating laughter on set.
Meanwhile, during the process of giving Kihyun a nickname, when ChatGPT came up with a ridiculous answer, Kihyun typed, 'You don’t really know Kihyun, do you? Go search again,' drawing attention with a fascinating nerve-wracking exchange with ChatGPT. IM requested changes with an honest and cold evaluation, warning ChatGPT, 'If you do this, are you going to keep it?' which further elevated ChatGPT's tension and created a quirky situation that enhanced the content's entertainment.
The members then began earnestly creating a fairy tale with ChatGPT. When Minhyuk started with 'Once upon a time, there was a princess living in a magnificent palace,' ChatGPT even created a character called 'Silver Fox,' crafting a detailed story that amazed the members. This prompted the mischievous members to take the story in a completely different direction, turning the princess into a villain, which confused ChatGPT.
Despite the continued interruptions, as ChatGPT smoothly continued the story, the members ultimately acknowledged this and concluded the tale with a warm ending. At the end of the video, scenes were revealed showing the members recording a narration to add to the completed story, creating a more vivid fairy tale and showcasing MONSTA X's profile as 'content artisans' with unique entertainment.
MONSTA X's reality show 'MON EAT IT ALL' can be watched every week at 8:30 p.m. on MONSTA X's official YouTube channel. MONSTA X will operate a free pop-up exhibition 'MONOLOGUE' to commemorate their 10th debut anniversary until June 11.
