As the early voting for the 21st presidential election begins, a relay of certification photos is also taking place in the entertainment industry. However, the efforts of stars to prevent recent controversies over political colors are evident.
On the 29th, early voting for the 21st presidential election commenced. Singer Yoon Jong-shin was the first, followed by Kim Goeun, Cho Sae-ho, BTS's J-Hope, and Lee Chae-yeon, among others, who shared their certification photos after casting their votes.
Their most significant characteristic is that they avoided any potential 'color controversy.' J-Hope shared a certification photo taken at the Okusudong Community Center polling place, wearing an all-black outfit while voting. Additionally, he did not pose in any way to avoid any potential 'finger controversy.'
Cho Sae-ho also shared a certification photo with no pose against the backdrop of the community center polling place, and Kim Goeun posted a photo of a sign pointing to the polling station, revealing that she had completed her vote.
In the case of singer Lee Chae-yeon, it was slightly different. Lee Chae-yeon posted a photo from her visit to the polling station on her personal account while certifying her vote, adding, "I can't change the wrist wrap, so I'll tone it down with cherry tomatoes." She visited the polling station wearing a brown cap, a white shirt, and black pants, and to avoid any potential color controversy, she held red cherry tomatoes as her wrist support was blue.
In contrast, singer Lee Seung-hwan and broadcaster Choi Dong-seok posted certification photos wearing blue T-shirts after completing their early voting, showing off a rather playful attitude towards the color controversy.
Earlier, rapper Beenzino and aespa member Karina stirred unexpected political color controversies after posting on social media. Beenzino shared a photo of himself in red clothing holding his son with the caption, "World Red Day." Additionally, he posted several photos of red-colored clothing, and the last photo included red pants from his launched brand, IAP Studio.
While the photos contained ordinary content similar to usual, the date of Beenzino's post coincided with the day of early voting for the 21st presidential election, leading to controversy.
In relation to this, Beenzino said, "I sincerely apologize to those who were uncomfortable with the post I shared today. There was truly no political intent; I just wanted to share the enjoyable day I spent with my family a few days ago and moments in my studio this morning." He added, "However, I realize that the timing during the early voting period could create misunderstandings, and I feel greatly that I did not exercise sufficient caution."
Karina from aespa also stirred controversy over political colors after posting a photo of herself in a jumper with the number 2 written in red along with a rose emoji. In particular, some members of the People Power Party, upon seeing Karina's post, shouted, "aespa shoutout," exacerbating the controversy. In response, her agency, SM Entertainment, stated, "Karina merely shared ordinary content on social media without any other intent or motive. After recognizing the potential for misunderstanding, she deleted the post immediately. We sincerely apologize for causing unintended concern."
