Recently concluded, the tvN weekend drama ‘Resident Playbook’ finished strong, garnering both hot buzz and viewership ratings.

Following this, ‘Our Unwritten Seoul,’ which premiered on the 24th (Saturday), features Park Bo-young in her first challenge of playing four roles, showcasing delicate yet explosive emotional performances combined with detailed direction that adds allure, earning positive reviews as a well-made drama from the first week of broadcasting. The Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Second Shot at Love,’ which depicts a woman who considers herself a reasonable drinker challenging her first abstinence after reuniting with her first love, who despises alcohol, also stands out as an innocent drama with the unique theme of ‘abstinence.’

Notably, starting today (30th, Friday), a 10-minute preview special video showcasing the dramas that will heat up the second half of the year is set to be released over the next week, heightening viewer anticipation. This video will include pre-released footage of ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’ as well as the first-ever footage of confirmed upcoming works such as ‘Gyeonwoo and the Fairy,’ ‘Law and The City,’ ‘Bon Appetit, Your Majesty,’ and ‘Taepung Sangsa.’ A tvN official noted, “We planned this special video for viewers who have shown great interest and love for tvN dramas, allowing them a sneak peek at the ambitious dramas we are preparing for the second half of 2025.”

Looking at the individual productions, the new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Gyeonwoo and the Fairy’ (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon and DEXTER) is set to premiere at 8:50 p.m. on June 23 (Monday), promising a refreshing youth romance chemistry. ‘Gyeonwoo and the Fairy’ is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, featuring a boy destined to die and a MZ shaman girl who falls in love with him at first sight, trying to save his life, presenting a bold first love romance of eighteen-year-olds. With rising stars Cho Yi-hyun, Choo Young-Woo, and Cha Gang-yoon, there is great interest, and the youthful charm of Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo featured in the video captures attention.

Next, on July 5th (Saturday) at 9:20 p.m., the new weekend drama ‘Law and The City’ (written by Lee Seung-hyun, directed by Park Seung-woo, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Chorokbaem Media) will meet viewers. Lee Jong-suk, Moon Ga-young, Kang Yoo-seok, Ryu Hayeong, and Lim Sung-jae will portray associate attorneys commuting daily to the Seocho-dong legal town. The newly airing weekend drama ‘Bon Appetit, Your Majesty’ (directed by Jang Tae-yu, written by fGRD, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Film Greeda and Jung Universe) presents a fantasy survival romance that unfolds when a time-slipped French chef meets the worst tyrant and the best gourmet king, transcending 500 years. Based on a popular web novel, the drama is directed by Jang Tae-yu, known for maintaining the historic invincibility of the genre with works like ‘My Love from the Star’ and ‘Tree with Deep Roots.’ Im Yoon-a and Lee Chae-min star, and audiences can expect a rich diversity of fun, from the romance between the time-slipped chef and the terrifying tyrant to the delicious fusion royal cuisine.

Finally, the new weekend drama ‘Taepung Sangsa’ (directed by Lee Na-jung, written by Jang Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imagineers, Studio PIC, and Tris Studio) depicts the growth of a young president striving to protect the small business ‘Taepung Sangsa’ amid the 1997 IMF crisis, along with the struggles of his family and employees. The historical backdrop of the IMF, which was Korea’s greatest economic crisis, is expected to enhance the immersion with recreations of that era and showcase the determination of youth to overcome the crisis. The pairing of Lee Junho, known for numerous global hits, and Kim Min-ha, who captivates domestic and international viewers with her acting skills, adds to the anticipation.

Meanwhile, the special video for the second half drama lineup can only be viewed on the tvN channel. Starting today (30th, Friday), it will be released at key times, immediately after the broadcast of ‘Pyeong Pyeong Earth Arcade Season 3,’ just before ‘Amazing Saturday,’ after ‘Our Unwritten Seoul,’ and just before ‘Fresh off the Sea.’
