aespa's Karina clarified that there was no political intention, but supporters of the People Power Party are interpreting it differently.

On the 27th, Karina uploaded a daily photo taken in Japan online but deleted it at the speed of light because she was wearing a jumper printed with the red number '2'. This led some to raise suspicions that she was supporting a specific political party ahead of the presidential election, and seemingly aware of this, Karina responded by deleting the photo.

However, officials and supporters of the People Power Party are clamoring to comment on Karina's social media.

Lee Soo-jung, chair of the Suwon district committee, well-known to the public from 'I Want to Know That,' reposted the deleted photo of Karina on her Facebook, stating "The hypocrites' slander is not worth worrying about. The secondary victimization of the victim will be severe, but let's overcome it," along with the hashtag "#If You Touch Karina, You're All Dead."

Baek Ji-won, spokesperson for the People Power Party's central election committee, also posted on her Instagram using aespa's hit songs "Supernova" and "Armageddon" as background music with the caption "SHOUT OUT TO," interpreting Karina's feed as a sign of support for them.

In particular, 'right-wing celebrity' JK Kim Dong-wook, on the 28th, through his social media, remarked, "This is something that a certain company operator told me back in the day. Dong-wook speaks political remarks without hesitation because he has no management company. Hello! These days, even idols from large agencies express their opinions confidently. Wake the fuck up," seemingly targeting Karina.

However, as the controversy grew, Karina expressed to her fans, "I had no such intention at all," adding, "I will be more mindful and careful in the future. I'm sorry for causing concern again."

Her agency, SM Entertainment, also emphasized, "Karina merely posted everyday content on social media and had no other purpose or intention, and she deleted the post immediately upon realizing that it could be misinterpreted. We hope that there will be no further distortion of the artist's intentions for a specific narrative."
