Aespa's Karina, dressed in a red No. 2 jumper, has been embroiled in a political color controversy, while Chairperson Lee Soo-jung has stepped up to actively defend her.

Lee Soo-jung, the People Power Party's Suwon Jeong district committee chairperson, posted on the 28th, "It's not worth worrying about the hypocrites' mobbing" and added, "The secondary victimization against the victims will be severe, but let's overcome it."

She then uploaded a photo of Karina and added the hashtag '#If you mess with Karina, you will all die.'

Previously, Karina became embroiled in an unexpected political color controversy due to a casual photo taken recently in Japan.

The red jumper Karina wore had the number '2' written on it, and she also included a rose emoji in the post, leading some to speculate whether she was supporting a specific political party. As the controversy grew, Karina deleted the photo, but even the People Power Party spokesperson mentioned 'aespa shoutout' on social media, escalating the political fallout.

Afterward, the agency SM Entertainment said, "Karina only posted everyday content on social media, and there was no other purpose or intention. Upon realizing that there was a possibility of misunderstanding, she immediately deleted the post. We sincerely apologize for causing concern inadvertently," adding, "We will also pay more attention and make efforts to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. We hope that the artist's intentions will no longer be distorted and consumed with specific motives, and we will do our utmost to protect all our artists, including Karina."

Karina deleted the photo, and SM swiftly clarified the situation, but People Power Party Chairperson Lee Soo-jung attracted attention by saying, "Let's win together" and remarked, "If you mess with Karina, you will all die."
