Lee Ho-seon, from ‘Radio Star,’ mentioned the hardest moments during her career as a counselor.
On the 28th, the MBC entertainment show ‘Radio Star’ (hereinafter ‘Ras’) featured a special episode with Lee Kyung-sil, Choi Yeo-jin, Lee Ho-seon, and Sa Yoo-ri.
That day, Lee Ho-seon attracted attention by revealing that she sometimes feels that the profession of a psychological counselor does not suit her.
Lee Ho-seon noted, ‘One of the hardest moments as a counselor can occur when a client passes away.’ She explained, ‘In cases involving patients with depression or trauma, there are times when they are under additional psychological pressure, which makes it difficult to overcome, and some individuals make extreme choices.’
She continued, ‘I have experienced such cases about three times. When I experienced it for the first time, I couldn’t eat for about two months. I felt like an idiot, and I thought it was my fault that that person passed away. I wonder if things would have been different if I had said something else. I cried a lot too,’ revealing that it was tough enough that she had to take psychiatric medication.
She added, ‘When a counselor has many concerns, their issues can be projected into counseling. To alleviate my issues, I also receive education and counseling. What I hear the most during those times is the phrase, “It’s not your fault.”’ She spoke while shedding tears.
Wiping away her tears, Lee Ho-seon said, ‘There are also many funny things that happen during counseling,’ changing the mood and adding, ‘There are people who do handstands and breakdance in front of me while exercising. The scenes I see during counseling are surreal. My job allows me to empathize with the pain others experience.’
