Writer Jeon Seon-young revealed interesting points that can only be found in the drama 'The First Night With the Duke.'

The new KBS2 drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (scripted by Jeon Seon-young, directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon, produced by Studio N and Monster Union), which will first air on June 11, is a 'no-break' path-diverting romantic fantasy drama in which a common female college student's soul inhabiting a supporting role in a romance novel spends a night with the story's ultimate obsessive male lead.

As the drama is based on a popular web novel that received intense love from readers, there has been hot interest in the drama's production news. With the release of the webtoon version's drama poster, excitement for 'The First Night With the Duke' has intensified.

The adapter, Jeon Seon-young, noted, 'At first, I was curious with the viewer's heart, and I felt thrilled that I could share the fun I had while developing the original and the script with many people through video.'

Most importantly, many people's attention has been drawn to the newly created settings that differ from the original during the adaptation process. Jeon Seon-young said, 'I thought it would be fun if the keyword 'first night' for the protagonists could create more provocative and diverse chemical reactions against a more conservative historical background.' She added that it would be a good idea to change the background of Western-style romance fantasy to a historical drama of our country to approach viewers more closely.

Furthermore, she revealed her unique affection for the actors by saying, 'Since they are characters in a novel and not real people, I thought persuasiveness is more important than the synchronization rate, but I was convinced by the immersed actors in their respective costumes from the first shoot.' She explained that the combination of the existing kind and cheerful know-it-all character with actor Seo Hyun's liveliness has created an irreplaceable alternative character. She observed that actor Ok Taec-yeon, who has a bright and cheerful atmosphere, has transformed into a cold-blooded handsome man with a painful backstory, making the image change feel the most dramatic.

In particular, she added, 'The major scenes have a considerable amount of dialogue, and I am looking forward to the comedic back-and-forth of attack and defense. I believe the charm of all the actors will intertwine like warp and weft, creating a dense and solid romance comedy genre unique to 'The First Night With the Duke.'

Finally, Jeon Seon-young highlighted the fun points involving a fast-paced love line that induces over-immersion, a witty way to overcome crises utilizing the reader's ability within the novel, and characters who carve their own paths while veering off course. 'This work makes me think about the qualification of the protagonist. Due to the butterfly effect starting from insignificant small flutterings, I believe every scene and episode will have the charm of an unpredictable live show regarding love lines, crises, and endings,' she conveyed, making the anticipation for the first broadcast even more intense.

'The First Night With the Duke,' a path-diverting romantic fantasy that will be responsible for viewers' over-immersion with its unpredictable freshness, will first air on June 11 at 9:50 p.m. KBS2.
