Elkie, a former member of the girl group CLC who was in a life-and-death situation due to carbon monoxide poisoning, has completely recovered her health.
Elkie stated on social media on the 28th, “I’m back. I’m really sorry for surprising you earlier this month by mistake. Thank you for your concern. I’m recovering in every way.”
Earlier, Elkie reported that on the 3rd, she was transported to the emergency room due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Elkie described a nightmare of a day, saying, “I woke up yesterday morning with a terrible headache and dizziness.”
According to Elkie, as she was about to take medication, her vision blurred, and she collapsed after bumping into things. Only after being transported by ambulance to the hospital was she diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. Elkie explained that she suspects the reason for her collapse was a gas leak that had no smell, smoke, or sound.
In particular, Elkie noted that she had been experiencing symptoms of fatigue, drowsiness, and headaches, but she considered them trifling due to her habit of enduring them and ended up getting hurt. At the time of her arrival at the hospital, her carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) concentration was reported to be 20%, more than ten times that of a normal person, indicating mild to moderate poisoning.
After inpatient treatment and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, Elkie's condition has stabilized. She stated, “This time was really dizzying,” and “I’m really lucky and grateful.” After approximately four weeks of treatment, Elkie has regained her health and has shown herself able to attend events. Additionally, Elkie reported that she will soon be releasing a new song.
Meanwhile, Elkie debuted in 2016 as a member of the group CLC. She garnered attention as the first Hong Kong member of a K-pop girl group and has been active in the Chinese-speaking region since leaving the group in 2021.
