BTS Jin's solo variety show ‘Run, Seokjin’ concluded with the release of its 36th episode on the 27th.
‘Run, Seokjin’ is a self-produced variety show that started with Jin's mindset of being able to do anything to respond to the love from ARMY (fan club). He showcased extensive activities by challenging himself in various fields each episode, including climbing Hallasan, marine police training, exploring abandoned houses, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, and action acting.
In particular, Jin exhibited outstanding athletic skills and physical strength on ‘Run, Seokjin,’ earning the nickname ‘a sports talent lost to K-pop.’ His ability to naturally connect with anyone and his cheerful sense of humor added fun to the program, garnering much love from global fans.
Jin shared his feelings about the show's conclusion through his agency Big Hit Music, stating, “This content started while contemplating the fastest way to show my face to the fans who waited for a long time after my discharge. There were tough moments, but it was also fun to discover sides of myself that I didn’t know about.”
He continued, “I am grateful to the guests and production team who joined me, and above all, to the ARMY who loved ‘Run, Seokjin’ so that it could last long. Thanks to everyone watching it with enjoyment, I was able to film happily throughout.”
Jin chose climbing Hallasan and action acting as the most memorable episodes. He humorously noted, “During the Hallasan climb, the production team fell behind and handed me the camera saying to go ahead.” Regarding action acting, he laughed, “I think it wasn’t bad. It’s probably because I’m handsome.”
BTS member J-Hope also conveyed his thoughts through a video message during the final episode of ‘Run, Seokjin.’ J-Hope said, “Hyung always thought about the fans. Even in tough moments, he gave his best and naturally blended into unfamiliar environments—that’s exactly Hyung Seokjin. You did well. I love you.”
A post-credit scene also caught attention, showing Jin planning his first solo fan concert tour ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR.’ This tour, which carries the concept of a spin-off from ‘Run, Seokjin’ and aims to reach fans worldwide, is highly anticipated.
‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR’ will kick off on June 28-29 at the Goyang Sports Complex auxiliary stadium in ILSAN. The tour will then continue to 9 cities, including Chiba and Osaka in Japan, Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, Newark in the United States, London in the United Kingdom, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, with a total of 18 performances.
Meanwhile, Jin released his mini-album ‘Echo’ on the 16th and is making a strong impact on global charts. His new release peaked at 3rd place on the U.S. Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ (dated May 31), setting a personal best, and also entered the UK ‘Official Albums Top 100’ at 63rd (dated May 23-29). The title track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ also secured the 58th spot on the UK ‘Official Singles Top 100.’
