Yook Joon-seo has announced his full-fledged activities as an actor.

On the morning of the 28th, the production presentation for the Wavve original "ONE: High School Heroes" took place at Lotte Cinema in the Gunja area of Seoul. The presentation was attended by actors Lee Jung-ha, Kim Do-wan, Kim Sang-ho, Kim Joo-ryeong, Yoo Hee-jae, Yook Joon-seo, Lim Seong-gyun, and Director Lee Seong-tae.

"ONE: High School Heroes" is a high school action drama about the class top student, Eogyeom (played by Lee Jung-ha), who suffers from his father's oppression and a talented fighter, Yoon-ki (played by Kim Do-wan), who forms a masked group called "High School Heroes" to unleash his pent-up rage and overturn the hierarchy of school violence. Based on the popular webtoon "ONE," which has recorded a cumulative view count of 65 million on Kakao Webtoon and won the "2020 Today’s Our Comic Award," it is generating significant anticipation.

Director Lee Seong-tae, when asked about the reason for casting Yook Joon-seo, who had been active in entertainment shows, in the role of Geol-jae, noted, "I struggled a lot with the casting. Geol-jae is an attractive character in the original, and in writer Lee Eun-jae’s previous work ‘Ten,’ he appeared as a legendary character. It’s challenging when there’s a fan base for the original work. If we can’t create a satisfying character for the fans, it might be difficult. I pondered a great deal about who to cast."

He said, "The specific concern was that the actor had to express the feeling and presence of Geol-jae, but if it turned out to be one-dimensional, it would be a mess and risky. While pondering that, I met Yook Joon-seo. After several conversations and discussions about building the character, I discovered he could express himself without doing it forcefully, creating it as he felt it. I consistently demanded that from Joon-seo, and he expressed it perfectly on set through rigorous training along with martial arts, which I think is very impressive."

In response to whether this acting challenge was a one-time event or if he had plans for continuous activities as an actor, Yook Joon-seo said, "Before starting my acting activities, there was ‘Steel Troops’ and UDT, but before that, art was the voice I utilized. In art, what I consider most important is expression and focusing on expressing my thoughts without being overly concerned about others’ opinions. After trying acting, I realized that acting is also on a similar path to art. There’s no reason to refuse, and I want to find any opportunity and commit to my acting activities in the future."

Meanwhile, "ONE: High School Heroes" will be released for the first time on Wavve on the 30th.
