Yuk Jun-seo from 'Steel Troops' and 'Solo Hell 4' has made his debut in acting.
On the 28th, the production presentation for the Wave original 'ONE: High School Heroes' took place at Lotte Cinema in the Gwangjin District of Seoul. Actors Lee Jeong-ha, Kim Do-wan, Kim Sang-ho, Kim Ju-ryeong, Yoo Hee-je, Yuk Jun-seo, Lim Seong-kyun, and director Lee Seong-tae attended the presentation.
'ONE: High School Heroes' is a high school action drama about the top student, Eogyeom (played by Lee Jeong-ha), who suffers under his father's oppression, and Yun-ki (played by Kim Do-wan), who seeks to use his innate fighting talent, forming the masked 'High School Heroes' to explode their suppressed anger and overturn the hierarchy of school violence. It is based on the popular webtoon 'ONE', which recorded a cumulative view count of 65 million on Kakao Webtoon and won the 'Today’s Comic Award' in 2020.
Yuk Jun-seo, who has gained attention from 'Steel Troops' and 'Solo Hell 4', is making his first acting challenge in the role of a mysterious transfer student, Ik-geol-jae. He explained, "Ik-geol-jae is a character that made an impact in a series connected before the 'ONE' project. It has an existing fan base and is a character with tremendous unique traits, so I focused on maintaining and reproducing it as closely as possible without damaging its essence in collaboration with the director."
He noted, "I felt embarrassed that my acting activity was at this place, especially since my identity as an actor has not yet been established while auditioning and taking on this role. The director probably had many concerns regarding this," adding, "Although there weren’t many lines and characters, I had a lot of time to transform it in a way that felt more like me. The director was very attentive to that."
Regarding the action in the work, he stated, "There were far more scenes where I expressed myself through movement than through dialogue. Uniquely, I trained for about 2 to 3 months at a Taekkyeon school. Ik-geol-jae needs to use his body actively, and I have to perform a unique kind of action that I don't even know where it came from," adding, "Posture is the most crucial aspect of the action, so I gave it my all."
Meanwhile, 'ONE: High School Heroes' will be released for the first time on Wave on the 30th.
