Internet users are taking the lead in a petition referred to as the "Gaseyeon Prevention Law" due to concerns about damage from cyber wreckers.
On the afternoon of the 27th, a post titled "Please agree to the Gaseyeon Prevention Law petition" was uploaded to an online community. The author explained, "The precise purpose of the petition is to improve systems to prevent the repeated dissemination of false information and human rights violations on online platforms."
This is a critical petition regarding the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute.' The author stated, "Too many people are suffering due to Gaseyeon's indiscriminate dissemination of unverified facts. Currently, about 17,000 people have agreed, and the goal is to establish at least minimal measures against such indiscriminate dissemination."
In fact, a post titled "A petition for the improvement of systems to prevent repeated dissemination of false information and human rights violations on online platforms" has been uploaded on the National Assembly electronic petition site. The petition agreement will be conducted until June 21, and as of 11 p.m. on the 27th, over 19,000 people had agreed.
The petitioner expressed regret about "Gaseyeon," saying, "The social harm is growing day by day. The reporting behavior that makes false reports without taking any responsibility, as well as the indiscriminate exposure of private lives for not only the parties but also their families, has even led to cases where those who cannot endure it have made extreme choices."
They added, "There are victims arising from various groups, from ordinary people to celebrities and politicians, seriously infringing on the human rights of victims and causing distrust and confusion throughout society," and claimed that there should be "thorough investigations and legal penalties, broadcasting suspension and platform sanctions, regulations on cyber wreckers, and restoration of victims' honor."
Meanwhile, the 'Gaseyeon' side has had conflicts with Park Soo-hong and Tzuyang. Recently, they represented the voice of the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron, indiscriminately disclosing information about Kim Soo-hyun.
In particular, they claimed, "Actor Kim Soo-hyun and the late actress Kim Sae-ron had a relationship since middle school, and the late Kim Sae-ron had sexual relations for the first time during the winter vacation of her second year in middle school, and there is an audio file to support this claim.” They further claimed, “Kim Soo-hyun's side tried to pressure the informant by offering 4 billion won for the audio file, and when the informant refused, they attempted to kill the informant through two killers,” stirring up both online and offline discussions.
