Actor Nam Joo-hyeok is receiving significant attention from fans as he shares his recent updates after his discharge.

Nam Joo-hyeok announced his return with a short and cheerful greeting, saying, "I have been discharged," through YouTube content recently filmed by actress Han Ji-min. The video was shot at the final filming site of Han Ji-min's drama "Heavenly Ever After," where Nam Joo-hyeok visited to support Han Ji-min and Lee Jung-eun, among others.

As Han Ji-min greeted the camera in a YouTube-style introduction, Nam Joo-hyeok, who was watching, said, "Sister, you’ve become a YouTuber," expressing his surprise. Earlier, Nam Joo-hyeok enlisted in the army training center on March 2, 2023, and served as a military police officer in the Army's 32nd Division. After completing basic military training, he fulfilled his duty in defense while serving as a military police officer and was discharged on April 19.

After his discharge, Nam Joo-hyeok shared various photos of a relaxed daily life in Paris through social media for the first time in about two years, announcing the official restart of his activities. In particular, Nam Joo-hyeok has confirmed his participation in the new Netflix series "Donggung" (working title) as his first project after returning. "Donggung" is a South Korean occult mystery that follows the protagonist, "Gucheon" (Nam Joo-hyeok), who possesses the ability to traverse the world of spirits (鬼) as he unravels the curses and mysteries of the palace. He is expected to share the screen with Jo Sung-woo and Roh Yoon-seo, among others.
