Actor Choi Jung-woo has passed away at the age of 68. Following the sudden news of his death, the public is paying attention to his 50-year acting career and his lesser-known family life.

Choi Jung-woo, born in 1957, began his acting career in 1975 through the play 'The Life of a Certain Actor.' He then worked as a voice actor for Tongyang Broadcasting in 1980, building his skills and showcasing a solid presence in both film and television.

In films, he embodied various professional characters, including a conglomerate chairman, prosecutor, police officer, and National Intelligence Service official, showcasing a dignified image in works such as 'Two Cops,' 'Indian Summer,' 'Public Enemy 2,' 'Miss Granny,' 'The Brothers,' 'The Witch,' 'The Outlaws,' and 'The Moon.'

In dramas such as 'Love to the Death,' 'The Strongest Chil-woo,' 'The Painter of the Wind,' 'Brilliant Legacy,' 'God's Quiz,' 'Deep-rooted Tree,' 'Advisor Season 2,' 'Call It Love,' 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' and 'The Odd Family: Zombie On Sale,' he left a strong impression on viewers with his stable performances. He was a 'scene-stealer' who filled the screen just by appearing, regardless of the role's significance.

His dignified appearance and solid acting ability were enough to earn him the title of 'an icon of middle-aged men in Korea.' He played central roles in many works as a character who is both serious and relatable.

In addition to his acting career, details of his personal life were revealed for the first time through MBN's 'Talk Show Dongchimi' in 2023. Choi Jung-woo candidly shared the twists and turns of his marriage, stating, "I registered my marriage three times."

He mentioned his first marriage, saying, "I hurriedly got married when I didn’t want to in my 30s, and after the divorce, I earned a lot of money from the play 'Please Put Out the Fire.'" He remarried in his 50s to a woman he met, but during his wife's stay in the United States, she developed diabetes, leading to their divorce after he told her, "You made me sick."

Regarding his third marriage, he said, "I married my 11-year younger wife, who is of Japanese-Korean descent after dating for four years. It was my first marriage, and I also had issues with nagging, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management problems, and ADHD," adding that when he was angry, he would call her "old man," which made people laugh.

Choi Jung-woo, who rarely appeared in entertainment shows, caused a fresh shock to many with these revelations.

His agency, Bless Entertainment, reported on the 27th to OSEN, "Actor Choi Jung-woo has passed away. The specific cause of death has not been revealed." According to the agency, Choi Jung-woo had been suffering from a chronic illness.

The deceased's funeral is being held in Room 5 of Gimpo Woori Hospital, with the funeral ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 29th. The burial site is Suwon Yeonhwa Crematorium.
